Taurus's raging judge line is also a good choice for big bore users, it takes not only .454 Casull and .45 Long Colt, but 3 inch .410 shells

im going to be maining my ruger mini-14 tactical. Very reliable, low recoil, accurate, moderately quiet compared to many rifle rounds, and with its light weight its not to cumbersome to comfortably run with. I dont see the point of automatic weapons, I have a lot of experience with sub machine guns and light machine guns, and for the most part your only going to get 1-2 accurate rounds. In a world where headshots count, a fast, light, and accurate semi auto rifle is going to really show its worth. It is extremely upgradable to fit almost any person who picks it up, it stands up well to the weather when cleaned properly (yes, when you are in a safe zone one of your highest priorities should be the condition of your firearm and aple time should be taken for proper cleaning and oiling). Clip sizes range from 10-15-30 and up to 150 rounds.
Sidearm wise im most likely going with a modified (sawed off, waiting for martial law to be called before i do it) side by side 12GA shotgun. Yes it sounds cliche, but shotgun ammunition is WIDELY avalable, and it is a very reliable "oh ****" weapon. Aside from that I would expect to carry a number of pistols, depending on what ammunition i can raid. Idealy i would like to carry a FN five-seven. The 5.7x28mm round is very rare, which sucks, but is an extremely accurate and deadly round, even in FMJ. I would have to keep a .45, 9mm, and .38 avalable because of how widely used the ammunition is, preferable all Glock. I dont like Glock, but its easy to get extended clips and the more polymer parts means less rust and mechanical failure. Personally, I love revolvers, but automatic pistols are going to be a must for reloading purposed.

when i was 12 i had a pellet gun and a shotty I wasn't allowed to use the shotgun much but it was good
The Assault rifles would be good if it weren't for the fact zombies don't need air and that is what blood provides us with.A shotgun will blow basically its whole body to pieces without much trouble and a rifle would get a nice little clean headshot but the m1 and assault rifle are not a accurate or able to scope

From talking to friends at work i think possibly the most effective AR is a .223. The .223 is commony used today for hunting coyotes, but it is the Assault Rifle most commonly used by the military and police today. Model may not matter much but finding a model that has parts that are easy to find would be wise.

Now if I was to bet my life on the reliability of any gun I would need to make sure it can be used for many things
-Needs to be sturdy (and therefore useful as a melee weapon) -Accurate -Reliable (doesn't Jam) -easy to find ammo for -Powerful Now, the Socom 16 looks accurate and powerful but I need to know how reliable is is? Will it Jam can it be used to bash in zombie skulls. Also, ammo is easier to find. I also believe that the M1 Garand is a very reliable rifle, (It was used throughout WWII which means that it is reliable) but it is true about how the ammo is harder to find. I would just like a little more information Also, feel free to suggest any other guns.

12ga pump is the way to go ammo will be easy to get, very versatile, easy to get parts for, they are cheap and if you do run out of ammo you can use it as a club and not damage it.

Alright so I hear a lot about a gun type and how its great BUT I never see what it looks like, how unwieldy it may be, or the potential damage it may cause to a zed. Now this thread is to show what your weapon(s) may look like, how big or small they may be or the damage the weapon may cause.

A .357 Magnum would be a very good weapon to use. Doesn't jam, fires .357 and .38 rounds which are very common, easy to handle, double action, etc, and for those who fell the need to have a powerful gun like a .44 or .500, fires comes out of even .38 training rounds. Another good gun is an Italian Made 9mm Baretta because ammo can be plentiful even though there has to be enough powder in the shells or it will jam. Provided you don't screw around and waste all of your ammo, it can last a while. Check the other sections like defenses before saying guns arent practical and ammo will run out soon (it will eventually, but shouldnt run out 2 fast if u can get a good barricade going). A .25 may be small, but can be a decent last ditch weapon if you have zombies puring over you or at unpleasantly close range. Im in the 7th grade and I handled every one of these weapons and a few others and did great every time with hanguns and even .22 Rifles on my first times, so these are probably good for people without much gun experience.

No offense to the editor here but i have to say that i don't think Guns are practical by any means.
Guns are expensive, they require ammunition which will run out, and (where i live in Massachusetts, USA) guns are heavily regulated making it difficult to procure them in emergency situations. Plus they run the risk of friendly fire. I consider practical weapons to be something any regular person could obtain in an everyday situation. Am i wrong? Show me how...

I've shot this gun a couple of times. It's .22LR, which is better than a standard .22, but still a .22 - it's small bore. Read my post on that elsewhere in the discussions.
However, it's a nice little pistol. Lightweight, fits most hands, and the clips are very spartan (lighter, simpler, and easier to manage). They hold 10+1 rounds - at least the one I shot. Pretty accurate, too, although the sights were set for someone else's eyes. I was able to make 2" groups at 10 yds in 3 shot bursts (little recoil). The action is strange, though, at least for me and my liking of heftier guns (my favorite is the SIG P229), and it /hurts/ to load the clips if you don't have a tool. Keep in mind my knowledge of firearms is severely limited (only shot twice in my life! ><) to mostly book knowledge.
