Changes

Key:  Additions   Deletions
*under construction*

With the right conditions and funding, fortifying your current location (should you own it) and creating what I refer to as "interior hardening" contributing to your layers of defense will enable you to survive various scenarios.

The examples and photos below will demonstrate/illustrate the concept of hardening defensive zones.

Problem set: Weak point in approach/ field of fire for crucial area in inner property (protecting house) zone requiring defense in event of rioting, mass/mob movement, standard intrusions, incoming weapons fire and observation denial.

Solution: construct solid wall capable of providing proof against min .30 cal weapons and sufficient protection against .50 cal weaponry

DISCLAIMER: I do not want anyone to think that I am wealthy or well to do. I sacrifice and spend my hard-earned money on things I deem of high importance and never pay full price for anything ( I drive hard bargains). Not that I've never made mistakes, I have and lost $$. However, I sense that I must fortify my home now while I can. Not to alarm anyone but I don't see good times rolling in the near future. I had this design/concept in my head for several months.

start

1. trench dug to sufficient depth providing solid 'footer' below frost line (36")

2. Debris, other uses can be found for it. also shown, area to be protected

back of wall

3. Back side of cinderblock

front of wall- block only

4. Front of cinderblock wall showing shelf for brick portion

Front of wall- brick finish
5. Front now complete with brick face covering

Back of wall-almost complete

6 Back now complete with parging. Second coat to be applied

Also, just so everyone understands, I have the mofo book on the subject in my hot hands. (I have mentioned before that my library is rather extensive)

This is the M0therf-ckin' book, read it, know it!

Here we see the frontal zone completely unprotected from any threat. Just a highway leading to a feast.
Front, pre-fence

The only protection on the right flank is this 2' high brick wall to trip the slow zeds.

Yep, other than fighting positions on the roof and the fighting wall (fence components laying up against it), way too exposed.
Front, fence components

And, wah-la! Instant anti-zed containment and kill zone! Left flank and front now protected providing distance.

Distance = time
Time = aimed shots

Corner pocket

The gate is not installed yet so ignore the big gaping vulnerability.

Gate, not installed yet

Looks harmless enough. Probably just some old people and a yap-yap dog.
