  • Medical: A person with First-Aid experience could be crucial to your survival, so that if you are wounded you might not kick the bucket that day.
  • Demolition: People who can make bombs, work with explosives and clear obstacles. Chances are they could also be good with electronics. They could perhaps make ammunition if you had the appropriate materials.
  • Mechanical: They can also strip abandoned cars and take things that might enhance your vehicle's performance.
  • Firearms: This one is probably the most obvious, so that you have people that can defend you and teach others to shoot more accurately.

  • Construction: Can construct better defenses.
  • Welding: Can weld things to vehicles, weld doors shut, etc.
  • Psychiatry: Could help people with problems, stress and low morale.
  • Meteorological: Having someone to predict weather in the immediate future (1-3 days maybe.)
  • Farming/Agricultural: Necessary to set up any type of long-term base.
  • Mathematics: Could catalog supplies and calculate how long they will last accurately.

  • Linguistics: You could run into other groups on the ground or on your radios that speak other languages.
  • Engineering: To build and repair communication equipment, and power supply equipment.
  • Hunting, Tracking: To find Game (animals) and track movements of Zombies.
  • General Labor: There will be a need for strong young people to do most of the work.
  • Cookery: A happy belly will do wonders for moral and health.
  • Reconnaissance: Crazy people who are trained and willing to go out of your secured location for several days to scout for scavenging locations, or Zombies with little or no back up.
  • Driving: Some groups will need drivers for rapid transit of supplies and other objects. Vehicles could also be used on raids.

  • Chemistry: Able to identify certain Minerals that could be helpful to Building, Food, etc.
  • Teaching: Able to teach better due to, usually, better people skills.Seamstressry: Able to make Clothing from thread and a needle.
    Pharmaceuticals: Able to identify medicines and proper usage. Also could possibly make medicines from plants.
  • Entomology: Able to tell if an insect bite could be deadly or not.
  • Naval Expertise: Many bridges would collapse and require crossing by boat or raft.Architectural: Is able to tell the structural integrity of buildings.
  • Fire-fighting: Are trained to handle Biological and Chemical spills.

  • Entertainer/Musician: Especially if you have a large group/permanent settlement to help keep sanity.
  • Herpetologist: Identify poisonous snakes
  • EX. Military personnel: Kind of obvious, but will have combat and weapons training
  • MacGyver: The do-it-yourselfer that can open a door with a tube of toothpaste, a sock and a toothpick
