I think that clone/storm trooper armor. I know guys in the 501st legion and they make their armor out of fiberglass, plastic and other durible things like that. Its flexibal tough and you look kick ass! So I think clone trooper armor would be good in tight situation. I mean if you're part of the 501sr and you have it laying around why not smoke some Zacks in trooper armor lol.

For those of you suffering from heat exhaustion, try this:
Take two shirts, putting one over the other and sewing the necks together. Sew 1” wide pockets laterally with the bottoms open. Into these pockets, try slipping a wide-ish item, like ¼ tubing or something, then sew the bottom shut. This will create a separation between you and what you’re wearing, allowing air to pass, while still allowing you to wear whatever it is that’s trapping all that heat. They ARE available commercially (Underarmor Corp, I think- They sell a lot of these at sports and security equipment stores), but they’re kinda rare and even I’m having trouble finding them. (I can find NORMAL Underarmor, but not the pocketed kind.) (Mods- I put this here because it is about something people have to buy. I’m not selling these, though, I don’t even own any stocks or stores.)

i know this looks crazy but i saw crysis and the main character had a nano suit that had 5 mods: cloak, speed, armor and strength. if technology evolves so quickly, someone will create a working replica of the HEV suit and who knows maybe the military will try and use nanotech as a upgrade to their body

Have any of you ever worn one? If you have worn one then you would know how cool it is when someone just walks past you and not even seeing you there. Know what are you gonna do if you are in a very grassy area, unarmed and theres a shitload of zombies coming your way? If you have a ghillie suit with you the just hide in the grass and crawl away slowly. Which is why I am totally going to take mine on Z-Day. For those of you who don't know what a ghillie suit is look here. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghillie_suit

Hey,
I think this section needs to be cleaned up. There are entries on this page that belong in other categories. I elect the following for removal or reorganization: - Tarp - SCUBA Gear These are NOT clothing. Additionally, we should remove the Half-Life 2 HEV suit for obvious reasons. Also, I think we should somehow clean up the "THOUGHTS FROM MEMBERS OF THE WIKI" section... it's getting awfully long. As a new user coming on here, I was bewildered by the bottom half of this page. Thoughts? Ideas? Opinions?

Gloves are credited as being both cumbersome and protective. This is true: they will protect your hands from weather, attack, etc. but will reduce your sense of touch and finger dexterity. So the question is: Are gloves a useful part of zombie-slaying attire? This debate can be sorted out here.
Personally, I would go with leather gloves, but cut off the fingers and sew on a small flap/pouch thing out of whatever material I could find to fit over the fingers when it gets cold.

Some tips for gas masks are to get one that is able to adjust the filter to either side. An example is the US army's m40 promask. The filter is able to be attached to either the left or right side to allow shooters of either hand to fire accuratley with it. And before you run out and get a mask, try one on and do a little jumpin up and down, breathing can get difficult.
A key note to firing with the mask on, rotate the weapon. Old school flak jackets are available at surplus stores, they are designed to stop shrapnel, and if in good shape are suppsoedly able to stop a 9mm bullet. Since they cant stop bullets they are better left behind. Modern body armor, like the Interceptor body armor (IBA) gets its bullet proof properties from the SAPI (Small Arms Protective Insert) plates inside. Without the plates dont bother. Keep in mind as well that the plates are pretty much a one time use. If they take a round, the plate loses a lot of protective abilities(they crumble). If you have access to sapi plates or somehow own a few, get a plate carrier(these are very very easy to find, just look online or at a surplus or even sporting store) and wear it over a leather jacket. Its much lighter without all the added kevlar padding. Invest is Gortex boots. They breathe well, dont need to be broken is as much as traditional leather and they take a lot of abuse. Gortex. it comes in cammo, its waterproof, its an extra layer of protection. Need I say more.

I'm surprised nobody had thought of this yet, but that Rhino lining that you can paint your truck bed with? You could make yourself a suit of Armour out of some cardboard boxes and a couple belts from your closet. Paint it all down with a layer or two of the Rhino lining, and you're ready to walk/run almost care free (at least from biting) And it's even usefule in non-Zombi situations like... mardi gras

I don't know if they exist and you might have to custom make them but the arm gauntlets Sho Kusugi wore in Pray for Death. Long sheaths of thin lightweight metal sewn into the fabric and running lengthwise from elbow to wrist going all the way around the forearm. Kind of like a long narrow fence wrapped around your forearm. You could attach a blade as well. I think it would be very effective against zombie bites and melee weapons. A lightweight alternative if you have the time. They could be made for the shins and calves too for those pesky unseen until the last second crawlers that sneak up on you out of your peripheral vision.

The best way to protect yourself from a zombie attack is to buy yourself a authentic set of Japanese Samurai Armour and Katana. Many companies sell these to consumers and movie sets. My personal favorite is made from Paul Chen from Hanwei armory. Battle ready Katanas are harder to find, but you can also find them on hanwei's website.
The ease of use of Japanese armour as well as intimidation factor of Samurai armor make it the perfect fit for the post Z world. For anyone who has never worn samurai armour, it is around 60 lbs, breath through, tight, and safe. It also gives you a great sense of security and moral. And lets be honest, a month or two after the world ends from the Z threat, who would not want to follow a leader who wears samurai armour?

I'm kind of dissapointed there is no shark suit in this topic. You'd have to have one beforehand but it would come quite in handy. Not sure how much one of those would go for but meh. It's light weight and bite proof, you'd just have to deal with your head and hands.

In the description it says "No zombie will bite through that!" Then, it comes back, saying "It's a material to steer clear of, because I tried biting through it to test, and it made my arm bleed," or something along those lines. Which is it?
