Racoon City: Can This happen to you?
Racoon City:
A small mid-western town, who's claim to fame is the Umbrella Corp, a multi-national conglomerate that specializes in pharmecuticals, but secretly manufactures B.O.W's or Bio-Organic Weapons for various nations. I think its safe to say we all played a Resident Evil game, so how would you survive this hell on Earth? What if YOUR town was the epicenter of a bio-hazard outbreak? Zombies are the least of your problems, remeber they're also Lickers/Z-Dogs/Tyrants the UBCS (Umbrella Biological Countermeasures Service) and the USS (Umbrella Security Service). Not to mention other desperate survivors...

As soon as I heard of the bites or saw a zombie, I would stock up on weapons and other necessary stuff. I would try to fortify my house and let everyone in who I know is not infected. I would try to stay mobile and also respond to radio broadcasts nearby. If I survived to the extinction part, I would try to start a colony and start to group up with other people in order to retake major citites.

First, shack up with a group of trusted friends and family to hold off the initial onslaught. Then, as things settle, cautiously explore the immediate area (easy walking distance). Unless you are forced to fight zombies, avoid at all costs. The same goes for dogs and BOWs.
The UBCS and USS may be easier to handle, if properly thought out. Mark where they are, follow them, and, when the time is right, get the drop on them, taking their weapons and gauging their psychological status. If they are like Carlos, and have some compassion in them, they are a valuable trained addition to the group. If they are like Nicoli, however... As for escape, that is simpler than expected. Since most cities have state of the art sewers, it stands to reason that these would lead outside the city, possibly to a location outside the quarentine zone. Now, for interaction with other survivors. Unless they are clearly insane, such as in Dead Rising, be cautious. Look for signs of compassion, such as caring for an orphan or a similar gesture. If the person is loud, brash, and combative, it is better to leave that person with a similar group.

I haven't played Resident Evil, but I've played similar games. If I lived in America, I'd have a lot of guns. So, if it's a small town then I'd hit the highway ASAP, with a friend in the back firing at anything that moves. Then, after 2 days or so, I'd make my way back, but at the first sign of chemical contamination I'd run like hell. I suppose I'd sort of become like the protagonist of one of those computer games... hey that sounds cool.
But seriously, I would alert someone before I return to the town, eg. the cops. Of course, the bio-chemical agents might go into the air, infect the rest of the country, and allow my friend and I to get close to the town. We'd try and seek out other people, and get people to group up, for safety in numbers. Eventually, the army's gonna turn up, but for the present moment, it's just me and my friend fighting the Umbrella Mercenaries.
