Radioactive Zombie
Can zombies die due to radiation? The problem is, when radiated, the zombies DNA is messed up. That would normally kill anything living, but would it kill a zombie? The question is, do zombies need their DNA?
- The radiation should kill a zombie. The radiation will destroy the critical aspects of the cells in the body of the zombie, thereby killing them. This would then, unless zombies are capable of cell regeneration (which seems unlikely) cause their tissues to degrade as the cells die off and are not replaced. Eventually, the zombie would collapse. Also a possibility is that they could die of massive blood loss the same as a human. When their internal cells die, they begin to hemorrhage, and the zombie eventually dies. This is much more likely, as the first scenario involves the zombie not needing blood, which is just foolishness. Basically, the zombie would die like any other human, only perhaps not go though the stages of pain that would normally cripple a person.
LORD COHLIANI: But what if the zombie doesn't need cells? What if the virus replaces cells, oxygen, and food? In that case the zombie MIGHT survive, unless the radiation actually kills the virus itself...
Dragoon1218: simply put living things need cells and to survive radiation we would need to be able to regenerate them faster then wolverine from the x men or we would slowly fall apart to nothing and in order for zombies to moan they need to breath and also they would need blood to keep cells fed and alive or all organs including the brain would deteriorate to nothing
