(startDependent typingon here...)the local environment, of course! But I guess it could be adapted to any other town...
Will you be staying in your home or headed somewhere else?
IfI you'rereally headingwant out,to avoid the post-trauma traffic jams on the motorways. It's already enough panic in normal times, so guess what it could be in case of a Z problem. Zombies opening cars like cans of fresh food: no way. I'm thinking about staying at home for a while, like a few weeks, to see how dothings youevolve, planand then move to getthe there?Creuse - central french countryside, beautiful with absolutely nobody and plenty of abandoned farms. Land, water, woods,
Meanwhile, the most important to me is to organize local survival.
Got anyone you want to take withbe you?with?
HowMy willpregnant youwife communicateand withmy cat. I guess I would try to join some friends living in the outsidearea, world,if orit's donot youtoo planlate... toThe basic idea remains: "trust gono one, love all" (Yogi Bhajan). So the hermitfirst route?part says enough.
How are you planning to get food and water?
We have a lot at home already. Water would be provided by the rain... Ok, there's the weakness of my plan! I need to think about that! Maybe the shops around...
What's your weapon of choice?
You Doguys youlive in the US where it seems to be pretty easy to find weapons. In France, it's just impossible. So one has to improvise and think about different options.
First, I have a bow and arrows: useful. We also have North Indian steel sabers and a large sword (boy, I need to reloadmake thatthem thing?sharp... Gottagonna plando forit this very afternoon!) and plenty of daggers.
I'm also thinking about Molotov cocktails. I guess the car tanks down in the street would provide the fuel while I could that?find bottles in the glass trash tank.
And as a defence strategy, I can fill the staircase with tons of furnitures, or even destroy the wooden strairs, and use ropes through the windows instead (need to buy ropes this afternoon also).
Got a survival philosophy?
I adapted Yogi Bhajan quoted above: "Love all (it's alright to love zombies, they also are got willed creatures), trust no one".
Are you willing to hook up with other survivors?
Beware of survivors: can you imagine what they did and what they're ready to do to survive? Better rely on a zombie: at least you know his real intentions! But some survivors might have understood the value of human company.
To conclude: no hooking up with other survivors if my wife is the only female member of the group, of if women are under-represented!
And by the way, I have a very limited trust in the army. That option is only to be found in movies!
Finally, if you're heading out, how do you plan to get there?
With a van, mine, or anyother I could find in the area. Van is the best option: almost like a house, it can drive fast, has a large tank, can survive any crash with another car, can drive over (un)dead bodies, is easy to find in my area, you can store a lot of supply inside etc. There's a Mercedes one parked in my street...
Is your plan based on a book/movie/blog/scientist we may have heard of?
"28 days later" (Danny Boyle) and... Nostradamus inspiration! 10 or 12 years ago, I read a prophecy that Paris would suffer a violent destuction somehow. So I thought about burrying supply in the Fontainebleau woods (south Paris) in case of. Time to reactivate my plans!
