My primary Bug Out Bag is set up to compliment my existing EDC (every day carry) and Survival/Med Kit (which I just throw in the top pouch of my ALICE bag to go). Most of my items are set up in "Dual Kits" that can be accessed and replaced easily if need be.
EDC:(I may not have it on me, but I always have it with me)
- Black coated 440 steel 10inch (when unfolded) Boker Magnum Pocket knife (my work horse)
- Gun Tool/ Multitool w/ belt pouch (includes knife blade, screw drivers, file, hex wrenches, Lasersight tool, scissors, pliers, etc..)
- Maglight Mini Flashlight (key chain size)
- 1.2L Metal H2O bottle w/ caribeaner (can boil water in it if needed))
- Butane Torch Lighter (w/pouch)
- Sunglasses
- ChapStick
- Boots
- Dickies Cargo-style work pant (brown, grey, olive, khaki)
- Boots/ Hiking socks or tennis shoes/ heavy socks
- Black T
- Hat
- GPS/Watch/Digital Compass (caribeaner cliped to belt loop)
- Leather Belt
- Cell Phone (w/ belt pouch)
Sounds like a lot, but If I am not wearing my multipocket heavy wool p-coat (which includes gloves always), then I am wearing heavy work-pants with lots of pockets (which may include workgloves). PLUS My Multitool and flashlight are keychained together in a pouch on my belt, my knife is clipped on and I have a belt pouch for my phone and for my lighter but rarely use either. In a moments notice I can be ready for URBAN SURVIVAL while looking stylish in my Batman Style Utilitybelt (LOL). I'd rather look like a dork than be eaten by hordes of cannibal undead.

As you have probably noticed I don't have a shelter category. That is because I plan on urban survival and don't need to make my own shelter when I could just as easily B&E a house and board up the room for the night. However, I do have in my truck at all times a 8x10 tarp, tent pegs, TP, ducttape, combo hammer/hatchet (drywall hammer) and a hoodie for emergrency shelter/camping. I also store my bolt cutters and crowtire bartool there.
