This new section is for Rendezvous and Evacuation (RVE) points. There are some specific rules and notes for this. You break them, the entry will be removed.

The purpose of this section is to allow as many members as possible a last ditch attempt at surviving Z day. Each RVE that you put down means you are making a commitment to keep the entry updated, and should disaster happen, to check for survivors regularly.
Should you turn up at an RVE, there is no obligation for anyone to help you. They might not have the resources to offer anything. They might be dead. Or they might just not like the look of you. This is an arrangement that will require trust and faith on both sides to work. It is no guarantee of survival.
First, you need somewhere that is going to survive the disaster. No good choosing "the gas station on 5th and Elm" if it gets burnt down or has an apartment block fall on it because of the Panic. And try and pick somewhere that will avoid flooding if at all possible.
Since you don't know the people turning up, you need to be able to observe them approach, and to do so without being seen. Make sure that whatever you choose as the landmark is able to be viewed from cover in multiple locations. If the only good cover point is a clump of trees 100 feet away, then you might as well not have any cover, because they will be able to guess where you are.
Try and have it accessible by road, and make a note of the nearest airport, or an expanse of land that could be used for planes, helicopters, airships, etc.
The Landmark. This is something that is unique, recognisable and obvious. My example from Canterbury is "The Lamb Statue", next to the bus station. 51°16'36.57" N, 1°04'56.80" E
The Signal. Since your survival will mean spending most of your time occupied with food, water, shelter, etc. You can't watch the RVE every second of every day. You will need to have an agreed signal to show that someone has showed up and wants help, or at least to communicate. In the example, I will put a rock at the base of the statue, below the lamb's head. When someone arrives at the RVE, they move the rock to below the lamb's tail.
When I notice the rock has moved, I move it back, and put a note below it, saying "Sunset Tomorrow". The note doesn't need to be protected from rain, since if nobody picks it up quickly it won't matter.
Since they might not come back for a couple of days, I will have to watch for people for three days after leaving the note. Since few people will have an ability to know the time, only sunrise and sunset are going to be good markers to use. Noon will be hard to judge for most of the year, since England is often overcast. I chose sunset since it gives me time to get there early, watch for people, and then get back home before it is completely dark.
This is the part which will cause most controversy. The rescuers will be wary about bringing unknown, armed people into their base. They will likely want to have some form of quarantine and disarmament.
Those being rescued will understandably be peturbed by strangers asking them to hand over their weapons. In a hostile world, it will seem counter-intuitive to give up your defenses in exchange for safety.
However, quarantine must be strictly kept, in order to keep everyone safe. As stated in other parts of this site, the best formula for this so far has been "the longest known incubation period + 10%." And as much as it will anger those who believe weapons are central to survival, you are going to have to look a long time to find anyone willing to let strangers carry weapons inside their shelter.
Getting people to understand this will be tricky, but is yet another skill you will need to master. Simply saying "give me your weapons or I will leave you here" is a recipe for a standoff. Diplomacy and negotiation are required.
A template for adding your RVE's will be added to the selection list when you create a new page. Please take time and think carefully about your chosen locations. Don't create more than you can realistically check on whilst keeping to your survival plan.
