If the Military breaks down

For anyone within the Great Lakes states, Iowa, Missouri, Minnesota(easier for distance, but anyoen welcome)
If the military has broken down, or abandons this post, I will be heading out to Rock Island, for the Rock Island Arsenal. It manufactures ALOT of small arms, howitzers, ammunition, and tank guns for the military. I will be taking I-88 from Chicago. It ins in the Quad Cities, so if we need a quick escape, we could always use a boat and go down the Mississippi,
If military still has control and will not allow us in:
Option 1:
Current location: Chicago, Illinois
Destination: Starved Rock, Illinois
Starved Rock is a state park, and is named after a giant rock thats in it. this rock has only one way in it, and thats up. you could climb the face of it if you wanted to, but were talking about zombies here. Theres only one way up, due to the fact that its on a cliff, which is bordered by the Illinois River. its in a heavily forested area, and yes it des have trails leading to it, but if the zombies are the ones we've all seen in most movies( slow-to normal walking speeds) then they'll have a vary hard time, due to the fact that most of these trails are on giant hills, so they'll tumble down one hill and fall down trying to climb the next. Plus theres a cente rthere we can possibly fortify. and since were next to the Illinois River, all we need to do is make it past the dam and we can connect tot he Mississippi.
Option 2:
Current location: Chicago, Illinois
Destiniation: Baraboo Mountain Range, Wisconsin
The Baraboo Range is a series of mountains thats long and narrow, so we can go in the middle of it and set up shop. Plus it has Devil's Lake, which is the perfect water source.
