RIA 1911A1
The Rock Island Armory 1911A1 Tactical in 9mm is considered an atrocity by some.
In my opinion, some atrocities are a good thing.

This pistol has the same features as the standard RIA 1911A1 Tactical, a skeletonized trigger and hammer and tight fitting.
Other than the caliber, it is a standard 1911. The magazine holds 9 rounds, which makes 10 including the one in the chamber. A downside is that the magazines are more expensive than standard .45ACP magazines, averaging $20 each.
General consensus online is that fit and finish are excellent for the price, and the reliability is excellent. My experiences match these, and I only use cheap-ass ammunition. In roughly 300 rounds, I've had zero failures so far and it's been more accurate than me. The recoil is about the same as a .22LR pistol, making follow up shots quick and accurate. The muzzle flip is minimal. Like all 1911s, the grip size and slimness is friendly to smaller hands, and the slimness of the whole thing makes it easy to conceal.
Being a 1911, parts availability and aftermarket support is massive, and there are literally hundreds of companies that make accessories for this gun. The RIA is cheap, for a 1911, and well worth more than it costs. I paid less than $200 for the one pictured above on sale. For those who like the 1911 platform, but can't stand or afford to shoot .45ACP, I highly recommend this gun.
