RundownMonkey's safe housesThis is a featured page

welcome to my guide to setting up a safe house in a Z-day apocalypse this will tell you the basics of barricading, defense and site selection. Safe houses are temporally settlements that are usually abandoned in less than a couple of days after getting created.

Starting with what should be the easiest part, site selection is a very important part of safe house creation and the process that is used to select a site can be broken down like this

The next thing you need to do is barricade the safe house

Barricading safe houses is essential to surviving for many reasons such as the length of time it takes for the Z to get to you. in other words, the better the barricade the more time you have to run.

the best way to keep a door closed is by jamming the hinge of the door the wrong way so this is best achieved by nailing a plank of wood or sheet of metal across the hinge end of the door. this should be supported by and other plank jamming the other side.

Um... seeing as my plan revolves around safe barricading I have two things, One what type of wood would you recomend?
Two, brick and mortar or quickcrete, assuming you know how to use it, would either also be good or far exceed several suggestions
Do you find this valuable?
