Sam

Your location:Brisbane, Australia

Tell us:
Is your plan dependent on zombies in your home town, or anywhere?
Anywhere. Preferably the epidemic would start somewhere reasonably far from my city to give time to retrieve supplies and such. Early preparation is key.

Will you be staying in your home or headed somewhere else?
Staying at home until supplies run out. I live in an easily defendable apartment on the top floor with only one entrance door. Id barracade that door and party with my mates until the zombies starve, they wouldnt have a hope in hell of getting in. Id pass time by throwing things off the balcony at zombies and getting incredibly drunk with crates of looted vodka rum and cheap red wine. (Id prefer beer but the bastard zombies would have disabled power, and no Aussie drinks warm beer)

If you're heading out, how do you plan to get there?
When supplies run out, It would probably be time to raid surrounding apartments in the building for food and water. If needed there is a supermarket and a hardware store near by that would provide more than enough supplies. Like chainsaws and stuff.

Got anyone you want to take with you?
Girlfriend, family, close friends. Not too many as my plan requires sustainable use of supplies.

How will you communicate with the outside world, or do you plan to go the hermit route?
Id use passive means of communication, like messages painted on the roof that would be visible to air traffic.
eg. HELP!

How are you planning to get food and water?
Looting the nearby supermarket. Id make sure i pick up heaps of medical supplies and sweet drugs from the chemist and trashy magazines to pass time too.

What's your weapon of choice? Do you need to reload that thing? Gotta plan for that?
A large machette/cricket bat. Due to Australia's strict gun laws (thank god), projectile weapons would be difficult to find, so i would have to get creative. Petrol bombs are easy to make and quite destructive. Napalm can be made by mixing keroscene and styrofoam. Fertiliser and petrol can also be mixed to make a powerful explosive that can be set of with a small ammount of jolting, friction or heat. These weapons would only be needed on doing looting raids on the nearby shops.

Anything to avoid?
Building a shelter from scratch. It leaves you defenceless for the entire time the building is being constructed. And a crappy shelter isnt going to be nearly as sturdy and zombie proof as a properly built building. I think farming is also a bad idea. It requires many hours outside, unprotected from attack and it can take months for a single plant to grow, the group may have starved before then without proper supplies

Got a survival philosophy?
Preparation, I think acting quickly at the start of an epidemic would be very important.
Also, keeping morale high, thats what all the alcohol and drugs would be for...

Are you willing to hook up with other survivors?
Only if they can find me and they have something to offer. I won't be activley seeking survivors.

Is your plan based on a book/movie/blog/scientist we may have heard of?
28 days/weeks later, -Hopefully the zombies wont be as quick as in these movies. The father and daughter in 28 days had the right idea, hiding in their apartment, their only problem was lack of supplies, mainly water.
