Scenario 7

Setting
While keeping watch one day, you see a very large group of people approaching your stronghold. You think that they know you are there due to the fact that they appear to be getting to get ready for battle. However, you have heard of a small horde of zombies to the south, so they might be headed there. You run inside to alert the seven people you have with you. You are armed with civilian weapons namely the AR-15 and various rifles. You also have flares to alert the rest of your group (about 9 people on recon), but no matter where you shoot it, the fanatics will know. However, you don't even know if they are fanatics. Through your binoculars, you see that they number around 50 men. They are dressed in reds and whites which appear to be some sort of uniform. You are in a very urbanized location, so waging a guerrilla war would be relatively easy. What do you do? A word of caution. Since you do not have silencers, any shot you fire will bring the zombies down on your location.

Richboy23mj- First, gather up all the supplies, then put them in the vehicle(s), and announce over a loudspeaker that you are friendly, unbitten survivors. If they shoot at us, we will try to drive away or shoot back. If they are friendly towards us, we will ask them what they are doing and ask if we may join as long as they are not trying to kill the horde of zombies.

Residentmagnum

I like do drink a lot of pop and in my BOB would be duct tape true it is good for one shoot= gheto-silencer
also I would try to have some type of walkie-talkie with the other to keep in touch but I also like the buddy system
Each of us would sneak around to various sniping positions then a trap of some kind with the flares along with items from the BOB of are combined strength at least too scarecrows would be built if they shoot the scarecrows then we use their gun fire to muffle are own killing them all and adjust to full auto if they have been modified or switch too other riffles using the empty bottles and duct tape

  1. first Baillie 7 dead now 43
  2. second Baillie 7 dead now 36
  3. third Baillie 7 dead now 29
  4. fourth Baillie 7 dead now 22
  5. fifth Baillie 7 dead now 15
  6. two more Baillie's then secure position and refill on what the psycho's had on them

The point is that maybe the other two may miss or be acting as spotters to keep tract of the men also just like in patriot if anyone is giving orders or has badges that show rank they die first

If they don't shoot the scarecrows then a dog or a person who chose the short straw may go in and try to make friends that could still lead to a battle

Dooran: Launch the flare, and then relocate the group to a nearby, but hidden, position, while leaving one person behind with a single rifle. When the large group shows up, they will hail them, and if they are friendly, we would join up with them to secure the area more effectively. If they are not friendly, shots will be fired, and zombies will move in. Meanwhile, the rest of our group is out of view and can easily get the hell out of there before they are forced to deal with incoming zombies. From there, it's just a matter of finding another decently defendable position.

Quickrace89: Depends on the strength of my fort - if I can control access, then me and the others signal them, and if they're unfriendly, we kill them from the fort, and remove the bodies after. If the fort isn't strong enough, we'll quietly evacuate my fort. Take all the supplies and hide them nearby, but make sure the mob doesn't see you leaving. I'm assuming they're dangerous - I'll hole up half a kilometre away and send out teams of 2 to fetch the recon guys. I don't reckon that 50 people in red and white uniforms, gathering in the middle of the street, and preparing for battle are going to be friendly. Especially with the uniforms - that sets it off for me. They're fanatics, and I'm running.

Happyman:I'd throw something small at them, like a can. You do not know if these people are friendly or not, it just might be a high school baseball team. If they don't react to the can or whatever items you throw at them and seem brain dead, waste da fools.

Learxst: The best course of action is to send a small groupAZ-Terminator001 of people to talk to the leader, and to have everyone else well armed watching the conversation (Be sure to keep information of your group to a minimum). If the group seems friendly, then I should let a small amount of people come back while the rest of my group keeps tabs on the other. You never know the intentions of other people. If all goes well, you may discuss who they are, what they are doing, why they have uniforms, and if they have any supplies they would like to trade. It is better to make friends, then to push away possible resources. But if at all possible, you would want to keep as much information to yourself as possible. In times of emergency, your best friend might stab you in the back for one bottle of water. (Oi! what's my name doing up there?)

But if it just so happens that they are a group of fanatics, or pirates, or any kind of threat, you should waste no time eliminating your enemy as long as they still don't know any of your team members locations. The ghouls may hear you, but humans are more dangerous. They can get organized fast, make a plan, and become your demise. In conclusion, zombies are not your worst enemy, other people that are willing to kill you for your inventory are.

The Professional: Leave them alone. If I can manage the watch them without exposing myself I would continue to watch them until they made a move. There is no way to tell of their intentions with the given situation. I would recall the recon team to bolster our numbers in the event that they attack. Now normally, I would say that the numbers are not a problem if using guerrilla tactics, but in this case if they are already aware of us then moving into position without alerting them is too difficult to risk. If they get wind of us they will bunker into a single location and the fight will already be over. The best thing to do is to wait for them to make a move.

If they attack us: We will begin firing flares into the air and taking pot shots at the attackers. Drawing the attention of the Zeds to our location. Once the Zeds arrive (hopefully) they will quickly become interested in our attackers. If the numbers are large enough it may even force the attackers to retreat and the Zeds will most likely give chase. If the Zeds numbers are not enough to force a full retreat the attackers will certainly take cover in nearby buildings. This gives us the opportunity to escape in whatever direction is the safest at the time.

If they attack the Zeds: Let them. We can conserve our ammunition while they fight the horde. But, just because they fought the Zeds does not make them allies just yet. Because no matter who you are or what you do, during a Zombie Invasion everyone has to fight the horde.

If they come to us peacefully: So they know we are here. They want to talk. They call themselves (Insert Pretentious Organization Name Here). They want to help us take out the Zed infestation to the south. The only catch is that they want us to join their group as they believe strength is found in numbers. Why not? I'm sure that by now the 16 of us are tired of looking at each other all the time and now we have a company of fighters to join.

So many possible outcomes really. But basically we would have to wait and see what their intentions are before anything can happen really.

AZ-Terminator001
not TOO sure about a plan.
oh, and Quickrace89...................What if they are medics?
Red and White are the universally accepted colours of Medical assistance units.
JUST because they have red & white uniforms DOESN'T mean they are Catholic fanatics, or fanatics from any other branch of Christianity.

JackMathey:

This ones quite easy actually. I would have already established that if I fire one flare members on recon are to return to base but if I fire two successive flares they are to get as far away from base as possible. First I would fire two successive flares to attract attention to our base from those fanatics and the zombies. Then I would have the group fortify our base until the fanatics got close, that will be when my team would start sniping. Right around now the zombie's should be coming and when the fanatics turn around to shoot the zombie's we shoot them in the head. I would then fire one flare into the air to signal for backup as well as firing several shots into the air to attract more zombies to either distract or kill those fanatics. Backup will come and help us rid the base of the remaining few fanatics and zombies. I would advise my crew, however, to keep one fanatic alive to question him as to why they where sent here and if more of them are coming. I would then end the night by appointing four men to lookout posts to keep our base safe from any remaining zombies that might be coming along.

Unless they are a friendly organization in which case the wait and see approach would suit the situation much better.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Neenight: I am going to assume a few things here, First: because you say civilian rifles a few of them will have optics and Will be suitable for sniping. Second: when the flares are shot the recon teem will return to base not to where the flares are fired from. Third:we have melee weapons, there not hard to find and/or make.

First I would send out two people out away from the stronghold engaging zombies only when necessary and then only with melee weapons. Then once every body returned to base we would find an open area surrounded by multi-story buildings. We would then proceed to destroy the staircases leading to the 2nd story and setup escape routes. Once the preparations are complete all you have to do is lure them into the trap ask them of there intentions. If they are friendly we all live happily ever after, if not we kill them, escape, and come back later to pick the weapons and anything else useful from their gnawed bones.

Don-diego: if your base is big enough to see people over to the horizon then it's probably pretty big.

send one man out to the recon teams and tell them to get back to the base, now you've got 16 people on your team. you'd know your own base and the enemy wouldn't, hide all of your men in and around the base and tell them to restrain everyone that's out of sight of the others, if there's 50 of them it'll be hard for them to notice someones missing and it's also not likely that they'll send in 50 people at once so it'll increase your own chances. tell your men not to kill anyone, only disable them temporarily, your enemy won't know your base and will be unfamiliar with it and lose themselves making it easier on your side. leave one man to talk to them, and tell them that all the others are out getting supplies and medicine, put him in a position so that one man can see so they can signal the others when something happens, if they want to take over your awesome base then have the negotiator signal the one man to order everyone to kill everyone restrained without using firearms, by this point there numbers would have dwindled by at least 15 making 35 or less. once the order to kill everyone restrained is given you would have given your men another order before hand to pair up in groups, one man to sneak up behind those out of sight of the enemy and one to guard him, if they suddenly get found out they'll start firing before the enemy does, once your men hear the shots they start firing to, catching them by surprise gives you the advantage even if they, might of course, outnumber you. with there supplies and weapons you can easily hold off against the zombies to the south, that is if you ever need to fire any shots in the first place. of course if they want to join you then take them in by all means, more men equals more things can be done to gather supplies and fortify your base.

13th.Casualty:
I myself would dress in dirty, tattered clothes and appear to be a lone survivor. All I would have is a crowbar and a concealed flare gun. I would stand in the group's way and pretend to be exhausted. I will ask if I can go with them for the night and figure out what they are doing. Then while they are all asleep, I will tell my group about their plans and act accordingly.

Nosfera2
assuming the worst but hoping for the best i quickly siphon some of the gasoline out of the vehicles and form makeshift bombs and wire them to a detonator place them in front of the stronghold if they arrive and are freindly units i team up with them if they begin an attack i detonate the charges and head for the vehicles i use the remaing gas to get me and my allies to another location and begin preparing another stronghold possible a grocery store or supermarket and set off flares to alert my recon teammates

I would tell me team to stay low and keep out of sight. i cover my clothes in mud and tatter them. I would then tell me team to observe what the people will do next.
I would then come out of the bushes or where i am and start yelling at them for help. Whatever they do next would result in different conclusions...

if they start shooting at me i wouldnt turn around straight away, i would try and find cover and tell them that i am not infected and i am a survivor. If they continued to shoot at me i would then return to my position if i havent been shot or killed yet which i probabli will be.

Second conclusion that they are friendly and i tell my people to come out.

Third conclusion they are hostile but seeing as i have made myself look very disorganised and dirty, they would think nothing more of it and they would either pass or rob me of whatever i still have left, which would probabli be my dignity :P

Fourth conclusion nothing goes to plan my people start shooting at them, whether they are friendly or not and the zombie ambush both parties and have a feast where i shall be the main course
