Mammoth city
What is mammoth city?
Mammoth city is my idea of a safe haven for a group of travelers during a zombie apocalypse.
Currency
In Mammoth city there is no currency because money will not work in a zombie infested world. Some people might take money others might not. In Mammoth city the trade system is based off of, ill give you this if you give me that. Not, I'll give you 70$ that won't work any where else for 3 boxes of ammo. Survival is the key and money can't help your survival as much as a gun can.
Homes
Well housing is based off of how much you contribute.
If your a farmer that works hard and brings in a good amount of crops then you are going to get a nice house.
But if you don't contribute to the city and the people inside then you get no housing privileges.
If you have a big family and you have to stay home to take care of them then you may get a house. but at one point you must contribute. If your a man then it may be help build a house one the weekends or part time guard. for women it my be a nurse or doctor..
Jobs
No job that a man can get is a job a woman can't besides a raider (soldier) but they may become stationary guards.
There are jobs like
Builder
Plumber
Guard
Raider
Engineer
Trader
............
Stores
there are bars and traders if you need something or a good drink
Guns
People may have guns if they are taught to use them. adults and children may carry guns that are on safe or not loaded. children may be taught how to fire guns and may carry guns after given proper training.
Laws
If attacked you may defend your self with deadly force if needed.
If you murder your kicked out of the city never to return for a year
vandilism leads to community service
stealing leads to community service
child abuse leads to kicked out or death depending on how bad.
Buildings
Buildings will be made out of sturdy logs
Leadership
Is voted upon.

Ps. Im to young and immature to lead a city. I may start it but I will not lead unless I am voted for.
I know this does sound impossible and it probably is but its just n idea.
so tell me what you think.

So, a doctor that comes in must do the work the female carpenter has to do, and the female carpenter has to do the doctors work? How about giving the people best fitted for the work the said job? I mean I could see your point about giving men certain jobs and women certain jobs if you had to use your brute strength to accomplish the work (hint ; the only job would be lumberjack in this case or someone who has to _carry_ stone or logs), but since you would most likely have tools and knowledge of the job, that would not be necessary and you could give it to people who have past experience of said job instead. "If you have a big family and you have to stay home to take care of them then you may get a house." Wouldn't the people with a family being those that get a high priority on housing? And they "may" get one, does that mean you would rather give a carpenter without a family a big luxorous house instead of the family of 8? "Ps. Im to young and immature to lead a city. If you're too young and immature to lead a city, why would you think anyone would follow you to start said city anyways? Also, I would highly reccomend that your new city is not started from scratch, you would fare off ALOT better if you would reoccupy a smaller town instead, since you would have houses to live in, instead of building new ones. Especially if you have no people with any experience in how to build houses (and believe me, it's alot harder than just getting some logs together). |
