Not sure why original got deleted but this is a revised and full version.

This is assuming the apocalypse begins before I have time to exit my home town, Bowie, MD, about a half hour outside of DC. My first plan is to fortify my house. This should not be hard, only one ground floor window easy to board up. Also strengthen the gates to the backyard fence. On my court there are 6 similar homes all have multiple vehicles and fenced in backyards. I will convince my neighbors to gather up some relatives and fortify their homes. We will than place several vehicles across the top of the court to form a gateway/wall. As quickly as possible will also gather relatives. I have six in town in addition to my immediate family. They will bring their guns other weapons/tools and supplies. In addition to these items two of my relatives bring military experience and one brings agricultural experience.

Over the next few days friends of mine, members of the scouts with me and their families will be approaching our home in order to prepare to evacuate the city. I conservatively estimate about 100 people, about 30 folks ranging between 22 and 15 and their families. High end estimates range about 200-300. Before comments are made about how this is a bad idea let me say yes I know where you are coming from but we are trained in foraging and we work well as a group already and our families brig a wide range of experiences from hunting to engineering.

We will than send a small team of guys to the school bus lot approximately a mile from my home. We will get those buses and bring them back to the house. Ideally we will attach snowplows from the city to the front of these vehicles. If that doesn't occur we will try to fashion "push-bars" reinforced metal bars meant for pushing cars during high speed police chases. Using these buses we will raid for medical supplies, food, books, sports equipment, and others from the nearby medical facilities and malls. We will patrol for other survivors and for dogs/pets and attempt to rescue them. We will also raid the local dental facilities for other equipment, books, and medication.

Once we have gathered these materials and organized our bus convoy we will travel to several scout camps. First is BCMSR. This is a camp near Baltimore where there is a warehouse of supplies, guns (22s), and ammo. Will also go to Camp Horseshoe Approx 15 min from BCMSR. Than a detour to other side of Baltimore to Rodney Scout Reservation. These facilities have similar stockpiles and hopefully more scouts/scouters ho have rallied there. Our next destination will be Camp Sinoquipe in PA. Again a stockpile of supplies and hopefully more survivors.

From Sinoquipe we will go to Cresson PA. Cresson is a town of less than 2000 people in the mountains, 20 miles from Altoona. Once in Cresson we will go to the nearby college and retake, assuming infested, Ihmsen dorm. Ihmsen is built like a box with thick, inward opening dorm doors. Once this building is cleared several team members will use the roof access to take guard/sniper positions, while others will be in order of priority, sanitizing rooms, securing exits, unloading supplies, and setting up rooms. We will secure the exits by destroying the staircases and placing ladders, we will also need to board or brick up several emergency exits. At this point we will break as it will have been a long day or two of traveling. Guard teams will rotate on shifts.

The next day three things will be accomplished. First teams will begin retaking other buildings on campus. Second group will be assembling/rescuing locals and friends who are already aware of this plan. Third group will be going out and gathering 18 wheelers and extra buses which we will use to form a perimeter wall around the campus after we remove the tires to lower the vehicles. Assuming we have gathered enough vehicles to create a mile long perimeter we will make it as well as an "airlock" entrance. This entrance will have two doors one exterior and one interior. We will than use the school's backhoe to dig a trench around the exterior of the vehicle wall. The excess dirt will be used to fill in the space beneath the vehicles. We will make a sturdy drawbridge over this trench.

By the end of this day we should have retaken all the dormitories, the library, the gymnasium, the academic building, the medical training facility, the maintenance buildings, and the cafeteria. There is one additional building. The main building has four floors and a variety of offices and small rooms. It has to many entrances and windows to be safely retaken until perimeter wall is up. The plan to retake this building is to open one of the entrances and create a loud noise to draw out the Zeds which will than be slaughtered. Once the masses have been slaughtered we will slowly retake and secure the building.old pic of mt aloysius

By this point we should have around 300 or more people. We welcome other survivors to rally with us this compound is where we will begin trying to retake the area. There are a variety of small towns with all sorts of stores in the surrounding area. Using hydroponics we will start a year long farming operation. We will wire up the cardio equipment to generators and everyone will spend about an hour a day each on the cardio machines. All members of the compound will also spend a minimum of one hour per day reading medical or other "useful" books from the school library. During "free" time other reading is encouraged. Physical activity will be essential as well. There will be guard shifts for everyone except for the raiders.

Our raiders will be all volunteer and there will be physical and mental requirements to being on our raiding teams. These raiders are not malicious and are more like "away" teams. They will be gatherer teams as well "hunters." Cresson spends six months of the year with a night time temp of less than 32 degrees, four of those months also have day time temperatures below freezing. The away teams will hunt down Zeds and raid malls, home depots, lumberyards, etc. There 3 prisons in the mountains near the campus. Some members of my team have suggested taking these facilities and using them as primary bases. I disagree but think they would make excellent outposts. These outposts can be used as overrun locations and Rendezvous/Evac points for new members. We can quarantine people at prison bases and once they are cleared move them into our main camp. We can than use these prison out bases as triangulation points and clear out between them and the campus. There is also another college about 8 to 10 miles away, about 4 miles past one of the prisons. This campus should be retaken and used as a secondary base or a colony. As we begin further takeovers we will try to expand "safe-zones" to make the area livable again. Any available land will be farmed and any mines will be reopened for materials gathering.

Any and all comments or suggestions are welcome
