Steyr TMPModel: Steyr TMP
The TMP (Tactical Machine Pistol) is a machine pistol; a select-fire weapon the size and general shape of a pistol. It's a very compact, well-made weapon from the Austrian company Steyr Mannlicher as a personal defense weapon (PDW), to be given to drivers and other soldiers who need more firepower than a pistol, but less bulk than a carbine.. The TMP is a product of the 90s and is renowned for controlabillity in automatic fire, with bursts of 10-15 rounds remaining accurate; most machine pistols will go off-target after 2 or 3 rounds.

The SPP (Special Purpose Pistol) is a civilian version that lacks the foregrip and is semi-auto only. The Brügger & Thomet MP9 is
a Swiss copy that includes an integrated trigger safety, Picatinny rail, and folding stock. Likewise, the TP9 is a semi-auto pistol variant of the MP9 that replaces the foregrip with a short Picatinny rail. All versions fire the common 9x19mm Parabellum round.

Where to find:
The TMP is used by Austria and Italy's counter-terrorism units, while the MP9 is used by the Mumbai, India police, the Portuguese army, and the Swiss police. The SP99 is a fairly popular weapon among civilian shooters, though a little pricey at about $1000.

Complexity:

The TMP's method of operation gives it greatly reduced recoil, making it extremely accurate even in long bursts. It has been compared to the Glock in terms of toughness and can be field stripped in seconds. The SPP is rather bulky for a handgun, though.
