StrykerPez's Survival GearThis is a featured page

Under Construction
Note: Everything described on this page is as accurate and realistic as possible. I already own or can easily get any item listed herein. Also, these are the supplies I would be able to carry on my person. My bug-out location is stocked with much more, as outlined in StrykerPez's Survival Plan.

Clothing:

My clothing has two stages: Pre-Infection and Post-Infection. The reason for this is that during the uneasiness phase of The Panic I don't want to be covered in "tactical gear" that might solicit a negative response from the already-worried general public. I want to look normal and "civilian" so I might go about my business as inconspicuously as possible. However, once the Infection hits, I want a more functional outfit, and could care less that my tac-vest and drop leg holster are going to "scare" people.

Pre-Infection:
  • Leather Wolverine work boots with heavy socks - comfy and functional.
  • Durable Levis jeans - functional but normal looking, and the pockets fit my multitool, knife, and flashlight
  • T-shirt
  • Mechanic's jacket - thick and protective, but inconspicuous.
  • "Home Depot Racing" baseball cap
  • Sunglasses
Post-Infection:
  • Response Gear Tactical hightop boots with thick socks - great tread and support, can wear all day
  • BDU-style cargo pants in either Desert, Urban, or Woodland camo pattern
  • Kneepads
  • Black t-shirt, long sleeve black Underarmor if it is cold
  • Desert tan Camelbak Delta 5 Tactical Hydration vest with MOLLE straps
    • Holds 102 ounces of water
    • Includes shotgun scabbard, machete scabbard, cross-draw holster, mag pouches, shotshell pouches, first aid kit, admin kit, and miscellaneous pouches.
  • Right side MOLLE Drop-leg rig with pouches for radio, flashlight, and knife
  • Left side Combat Master knife sheath for KA-BAR with pouch for Leatherman

Carrier or Bag:
Along with the vest and rig mentioned above, I use a large duffel bag to carry the not-as-essential survival items like extra food and ammo. It can be thrown in the car or put over the shoulders.

Ranged Weapons
:

These are only a few of the weapons available, but these are my personal pick.

  • Mossberg 500 Special Purpose Breacher 12 GA pistol grip pump shotgun
    • A nice shorty shotgun that can fire just about every 12 GA shell out there. The ported and serrated attachment on the end of the barrel serves to stabilize the weapon during door breaching. Fits in the back scabbard on the tac-vest, and I keep 12 slugs and 12 double ought shells in the MOLLE pouches on the front.
  • Beretta PX4 Storm 9mm semi-automatic
    • Simple, rugged, and proven. Nothing fancy here. Goes in the cross-draw holster along with 4 extra mags. Laser and Light attachment for better CQB performance.
  • Ruger Number One .45-70 govt. falling action rifle
    • Fires "Level Three" .45-70 govt rounds. Still has iron sights, although a scope might be coming soon. This rifle has the power to take down an elephant, I think zombies would be no problem.
Melee Weapons:

  • KA-BAR Next Generation 7" partially serrated combat knife. Fits in left-side sheath
  • Custom-made machete with 25" blade and 14" full-tang handle. Fits in scabbard on back.

Ok, i agree with the ka-bar, but there is one distinct problem with that, thte serrated edge would get caught on the bone of the dead and it would be difficult to pull it out in time to protect yourself from another one. So it would be a better idea to get an older model, without the serrated edge on it.

Drop the Shotgun... Its too heavy to carry the amount of ammo you will need... its more effective to carry a rifle/pistol/machette combo... Drop the computer and lighting, they will add too much bulk...and unless ur a genius with electonics you will never keep them charged once the grid goes out..... You're only going to need the basics... candle's and a two dollar flash light will be better than any of the high tech garbage they tell you is great... no offense intended but you are really over thinking this...
