Reason for Page:
This page was created so that members could suggest survival guides to other people on this wiki. Since survival skills cover a wide variety of things from making shelter to making fire, to hunting; this page is needed so that when Z-Day arrives, and the interent goes out, the members already have a guide on their person to read and to keep alive.
Suggested Reading:
SAS Survival Handbook: This book by John "Lofty" Wiseman, contains survival techniques from the SAS (British Special Forces), and contains a good amount of information. It is available in many bookstores, and is both easy to read, and a pleasant reading. This book includes disaster survival as well, in case you are stuck in a forest fire or soemthing. 500+ Pages of good infromation, and a must for the people who want to live in the end. It does contain pictures and has no set reading order, so open up anywhere you like and read.
Survive!: This is a book by Les Stroud (Survivorman), and is more of a beginners book then a how-to. It contains checklists, basic information, extra paper for tinder in the back, and many other things. I say get this book because it lets you know of the harsh reality of survival, and how tough it really is. It tells why thigns most people think about when asked about survival will get you killed or injured. This book contains black and white photos and drawings. It sits
at about 350 pages, and should be abe to be found at a bookstore near you.
FM 27-76 Army Survival Guide: This book is the U.S. Army Survival guide, and contains good information. It is easy to get a hold of, either online (ex:http://www.aircav.com/survival/asurtoc.html) or in a bookstore. I suggest this book as well, because along with survival knowledge, it tells you how to do it if you were behind enemy lines (in other words, not getting spot and shot). Therefore, this book is good for the days when most of us will have to survive without getting seen/heard by the zombies or raiders. I don't have a paperback copy of this one myself, so the page amount is unknown. Still a good book to have/read though.
Zombie Survival Guide:For those who don't don't haveaccessto to the zombie enthusiast's Bible, The online version of Maxx Brooks Zombie Survival Guide. Here is the link to the eBook.
