I was wondering who would be better off in a ZDay situation- us, or our Cave-dwelling ancestors?
They were (overall, anyways) in better shape, more self-sufficient, better at 'killing', used to there being very few people (they were very isolated, the global population was smaller, less psychological strain), and just as intelligent as us. We are more knowledgeable, better prepared, and better equipped. Who is/would've been better off?

Even a Zed can have full pockets, don't be ashamed to take purses, wallets, and keys if they are easy to get to. Drivers liscenses have addresses and addresses can lead.
IMPORTANT: Don't stick your hands into a Zed's front pockets, reflex and instinct can leave you with a stuck hand if you are suddenly ambushed. Instead use your knife to slice open the pockets to get to the goods.

I've read two books that have some good info on survival skills (first aid, tracking, food and water gathering, etc.). I don't know if anyone has listed them but here they are: SAS Survival Guide and the US Army Survival Manual.
I also know of a site- it's basically what's leftover from the closing of the totse site: Zok's BBS, bbs.zoklet.net . It has some interesting info, such as the DIY forum.

KNOWING YOUR FELLOW SURVIVORS IS A MUST WATCH THEM SEE HOW THEY ACT SMALL THINGS CAN BE A CLUE AS TO WHAT THEY ARE UP TO. ANY TIME SOMEONE SAYS "WHATS THE MATTER YOU DONT TRUST ME" IS A DEAD CLUE THAT NO YOU CANT TRUST THEM TAKE MY WORD THE MORE SOMEONE TRIES TO CONVINCE YOU TO TRUST THEM THE LEAST YOU CAN. YOU TRUST THE WRONG PERSON YOUR WIFE, CHILD, OR GIRL COULD GET RAPED OR HURT. YOU CAN ALWAYS KILL THEM AFTER THE FACT BUT THE DAMAGE WILL ALREADY BE DONE. I HAVE DEVELOPED MY OWN TEST OR WAYS TO SEE HOW SOMEONE IS I USE THIS EVERYDAY WHEN INTERACTING WITH PEOPLE IN THIS SO CALLED CIVILISATION. LITTILE THINGS LIKE DO THEY LIKE TO TALK ABOUT THEMSELVES AND EVERYTHING THEY HAVE SUPPOSED TO HAVE DONE AND HAVE LITTLE INTEREST IN WHAT YOU SAY IT GOES ON AND ON. LEARN HOW TO READ PEOPLE IT MAY SAVE YOUR LIFE AND THOSE YOU LOVE. I AM FORMING A SURVIVAL GROUP FOR 2012. INTERESTED? RESPOND TO THIS THREAD. THERE ARE OTHER THREADS ON THIS SITE. I AM FEELING PEOPLE OUT RIGHT NOW. TO START I NEED FIVE TO SEVEN PEOPLE FOR THE RULING BODY. THEN WE GO FROM THERE.

I really don't want this to come off as an "ad", but I had such a great experience at Front Sight that I felt compelled to pass that simple fact on to the rest of y'alls.
Great facility, great staff, can't heap enough praise in their direction. I'll be happy to answer any questions. Perhaps others can pass on their experiences with other training facilities as well.

You know those baking soda and vinegar bombs? You put in the vinegar and then wrap baking soda in a cloth and dump it in, You throw it at something and KABOOM!
Well, What if there was stuff that could be put in like thumbtacks, needles, ect. If thrown at a zombies head would that possibly harm them? And keep in mind that the bottle counts as a weapon due to the fact that when it gets thrown at something the bottle itself bursts little chunks of plastic that even gave me a cut once. Just a thought, Kinda sounds stupid but atleast I'm thinking.
