Introduction
Sweep Teams are a concept that has been recently suggested on the wiki. Sweep teams would comprise of a number armed personnel who would "sweep" through an area clearing out all infected in the vicinity. Sweeping would clear cities and allow for us to inhabit and secure the supplies from infected areas.
How they would go about this is what we will be investigating over the next few days.
Sporezombie's Ideas:
Specialize the teams so that you have a building team(s) armed with shotguns and other close range weapons, a street team armed with rifles and medium range weapons, a distraction team meant to stand outside the city and bring out any swarms that can get out, a underground team armed with very close range weapons and some kind of way to see in the dark. I vote for night vision goggles if we can get them Post Z-day. Last we need an engineer team to clear wreckage, they need protection or be armed themselves with a medium to close range weapon. Strategy for clearing a city: Have the distraction team lure out through baits of sound and food for two days this does risk rear attacks from roaming zombies so be prepared for that. Once the swarms are brought down the street team goes in and does an initial street clean. They clear street by street, once the street is cleared, the building teams clean each building on that street and follow the street team in a staged movement. The engineer teams come in when need and use the wreckage to block off all entrances into the underground. Once the city is nearly cleared, the above tactic used three times at a minimum to be sure. The underground team moves into the underground and clears it out.

You could also add a Demolition and Defense team. the Demo team would be armed with explosives to destroy any large damage the engineer team couldn't get(such as a collapsed building or an overrun barricade).The defense team would simply guard the area while the building, engineer, demo and to support the underground team by making sure no zombie's attack from above.
