my plan is to go to 16 acres of land that my Pagan Group and i have between all of us, there are several different talents arranged throughout our particular group. our plan is hold our 16 acres and start up a pagan village, a place of our own where we are not bound by the popular judeo-christian ideals. game is plentiful and there is a natural spring from off site pumping fresh water to a pond on the back of the land. after the panic our goal is to send out securing teams to the local lake and resvoir to clear the land and start another settlement on the island in the middle of the lake. there are several islands in this lake and we intend on island hopping and building our community. this plan is much more detailed than what i have posted but the "plan" is set for a course of over 15 years, that will have been enough time for the older generation to teach what they can and the adult generations to have had a few more kids and the younger kids will be reaching an age where they can take over and produce children. to continue the existence and such.

Looking for ideas about where to meet up with others when something bad does happen, Z-day or any other event, that has us all running for the hills. By south Tx in mean anything south of San Antonio, and west of Houston. I'm in brownsville, and I know that between this area (the south tip of Tx) and Corpus there are several rest stop areas on US 77 where it runs through the King Ranch. The King Ranch itself is pretty uninhabited, and would make for a good place to gather, and build up some manpower, and supplies. From there it's easy to either stay in the King Ranch (like I said it's uninhabited because it's the largest section of privately owned land in Tx) or make our way to the coast ( only 30 minutes from US 77 where it runs through the Ranch) or if need be it's only an hour from the border, if mexico is in any better shape.
Let me know what your ideas are, love to hear 'em.

All of us are screwed. we've learned this from Tropical storm Allison to Hurricane Ike.. I'm inside the suburban southwest, that's the areas of West Memorial, Town & Country, Alief, Sugar Land, Staford, Missouri City, Richmond, and Rosenburg. The First Colony Mall will be the pick up point. Heavily retail oriented shopping district on Hwy 59 @ Hwy 6. It's always empty during a disaster. logic wold say to avoid highways and shopping places, but, as I previously stated, we are a clusterf**k of people with a lot of hobos. Suggestions?

If you live in Northern or Western Texas, I would advise that you head toward the Rockies.
If you live in Southern or Eastern Texas, start making your way to the coast.

If your in the lubbock area if Z-Day happens, than I recommend that you head to palo duro canyon. There are some abandoned adobes up there that, if fenced in and barricaded, could act as a small temporary settlement. I belive that they are in the cliff side, so that also means that in rain, if there happen to be any holes in the shelter, than you won't get wet.

Houston is a nightmare without a Zed outbreak. Traffic is already scary bad from 5 am to 10 am, and from 3pm until 8pm every day but the weekend, so a zed outbreak would be even worse.
The evacuations of Hurricanes Rita and Ike proved that getting out of Houston fast in a disaster/outbreak/panic is not going to happen (try 14 hours to go 60 miles during the Hurricane Rita evacuation!). The best plan for Houston seems to be to hunker down/shelter in place for a few weeks, then evac to pre-determined locations within a days walk/bicycle ride. (the streets, and freeways around Houston will definitely be clogged with derelict cars, again from first hand experience due to trying to evac during Rita, and Ike. Many people trying to evac during these hurricanes had no where to go due to hotels as far away as south Oklahoma and west of Austin TX being booked up. These people were stuck in their cars when the hurricane hit). My plan: Hunker in place in north east Houston for about 2-3 weeks. Then make my way to Lake Houston Dam, which is easily made defensible in the center of the dam as there is only two ways from land (from either shore) to get to the center facility of the dam, fishing is abundant from the center facility, And it is possible to easily escape via boat to any point on the lake. The second choice (Maybe 1st choice) would be the 1960 Bridge over Lake Houston. Again, It would be easy to defend, by lining up abandoned cars on each end, fishing would be easy from the bridge, and a boat could be used to make a escape anywhere on the lake. Also next to the 1960 bridge on the east end, is a few small marinas, with sailboats, and motor boats. Once the bridge is cleared of derelict cars, there would be enough clear square footage that crops could be grown, if enough soil could be found/secured, and seeds can be located.(there is a Lowes, Home depot, and a few nurseries within a few miles of the bridge).

Anybody in the Brazos Valley, Roberston County or any area near that. First thing is first, Im former member of the Armed Services, now I contract overseas. So, the big paychecks here mean I can feed one habit to excess. I have this thing for guns. HAHA. With that beig said, that means I have alot, such as Ar-15's, Ak-47's, M1A, M40A4' A5'(In both .308 and .300), .45 ACP's and 9mm. Plus a few shotguns. With that I have plenty of ammo. AND I MEAN A ********. Here's something I havent seen anybody post and it makes sense if you think about it. Why do you need to go hit up stores for food stockpiles. You have guns right. If Z-Day comes to light and you have guns and enough people...Take the food from the unarmed ones. If they want to survive, they will have to give up the food for your protection services. Its pretty simple. If they resist, take them out. Thats less possible Zombie's for the future.
I think siting tight for the first few days or weeks is the best thing to do. Let everyone else EVAC and you just sit back and watch this mass cluster ****. Once its settled down a bit, go on your raids for what you need, make some ally's with survivors you meet and find a better stronghold. And yes, there is always a better stronghold. Once you've gathered weapons, food, water, fuel, vehicles, meds, and whatever else is it that you need...MOVE THE **** ON. Dont stay in one place to long, you'll run out of supply's. Oh, and dont forget sanitation, thats a must. You dont want to die from some funky diesease cause you didnt keep somewhat clean. Now, Im no expert but this is what I would do. I have a few locations picked out in the area that I would used for BOL'S. Tell me what you guys think about my half-assed plan.

Come to the longhorn cavern area, we'll be setting up a new community in Hoover valley there.
I don't really care who knows it or comes. Everyone's welcome, just remember if you start problems we will kill you and take your crap. Hoover Valley is bordered by Lookout Mountain and Long mountain, Inks lake blocks one end and Lake LBJ at the other, the Colorado runs through it, the point is that at lookout posts from either Long mountain, or Lookout post, we can see you coming from atleast 30 miles away, we will be prepared. It we'll be a good communtiy, there are already two large ranches, four or five large farms, an orchid, and a (out of use)golf course. Plus Longhorn Cavern can be used as a last defense/fort/natural storage. I don't know anyone in this area that cannot shoot well and most are vets(myself included). All of that is just a deterant to the people that plan to cause problems. Anyone who wants to build anew is welcome, all skills are necessary, no one is better than anyone else. Can't shoot a gun, but are an engineer, you're VERY welcome. In fact people like doctors and other specailist can expect better treatment than the run of the mill gun nut or survivalist, though those are welcome too. You get the idea. This is a REAL plan with over thirty people actively involed(though not for zombies, we just assume the end of the world as we know to happen sooner than later). So even if something else causes the end(Solar Flare, CME, EMP Bombs, not to prepared for Nuclear war but whatever, economy collapse, Christ's return, etc.) still come on out, we will still be there(I won't in the event of the Rapture, but others might).

There is plently of guns and ammo nearby to be had, and the thing is HUGE. It has multiple generators, storm shelters, lots of fast food that will outlast the earth, and only one entrance. It is completely surrounded by a high fence. Also, it is SIX FLAGS

I live in Galveston there is a school that is on it's own island that has a draw bridge on it...that bridge will be raised and there will be a man/woman on watch to see if there are survivors. You would be looking for Pelican Island.
