Two heads are better than one, here is a basic tactic to use when combating a zombie.



The diagram above shows 2 survivors attempting to attack a zombie with mellee weapons in a street.



The zombie then begins to move towards your group.



(Had trouble getting this picture up, it was 576k) As the zombie approaches one of your group members, have the approached one flee and the second team-mate move in behind to kill it.


Spraymachine:

You basically take turns shooting and retreating. It is especially good when you have to reload magazines when being pursued. How you can do this is when you fall back, you fall back far enough where you will have time to reload a magazine or two or three before it is your turn to start shooting. When you start shooting, your partner can reload magazines. This strategy is highly adaptable; it can be used with 2 people or 10 people, stopping and shooting or walking back and shooting, you can increase the distance between each retreat by running or using bikes, Razor scooters, anything. If you are battling with bandits and need to retreat or move someplace, this is a very good strategy to use.


Alicestar: nice job on the tactics guys. they need some work but nice job. keep in mind spraymachine that leapfrogging in never done on the retreat, its an offensive, forward moving tactic. if you use it to retreat you will leave your back open to attack.

The Professional: So what can you do to retreat? It seems logical to me, that someone is covering your escape. You can only effectively move backwards so far and only so fast.
