The Pagan Wolf's Survial TheoryThis is a featured page

Now, I'm calling this my Survival Theory because survival is not guaranteed by any stretch of the imagination, no matter how prepared we are for disaster. The plans we develop and implement only strengthen our chances of survival by using careful planning and our sense of reasoning.

Part 1: Bugging In

Given current living situation, No chance in hell of my bugging in.

Part 2: Bugging Out

I don't own any land for a BOL. I've always preferred the "ronin" approach, wandering rather than trying to bunker down. While many people may view this as a safety concern, the aspect of wandering is better suited to my realm of knowledge than holding down a single location for prolonged periods of time. If possible, we may head south to join the pagan community that TheEmporersChosen has mentioned before, or head north to the colder regions. If neither of these is an option, wandering the plains for a short time may be needed. I know the major water areas around here and the game is fairly plentiful with few people around for miles once open turf is hit.

Part 3: Digging In
I don't plan on digging in anywhere unless supplies are thin or a severe injury has befallen my group.

Part 4: Living
Like the Plains Indians before us, I have planned on a hunter/gatherer lifestyle with supplemental farming if a semi-permanent location can be established or found during the course of our travels. It is possible that should the invitation still stand that I will head south of my area towards the pagan community that has been mentioned by TheEmporersChosen as I will fit in better there than with my family.

Supplies at the Moment:
Currently, my supplies include my longbow, two katana, several knives (skinners, survival, combat), a classic Mora number 2 (courtesy of our lovely LadyAeries), two machetes (one has been re-sharpened for a Scandinavian grind more like a short sword), one .38 special revolver, my BOB, and medical supplies. As for personal Items, I've included my books (more like journals but full of random occult info), my tarot deck, and my writing supplies. (Less than ideal living conditions have set me back quite a ways from where I once was.)

I welcome any criticism and suggestions as I have only minor experience with planning. I'm notorious for "flying by the seat of my pants" in most aspects of my life and I have learned that is not always a great thing to do.

Any advice that could help strengthen my chances of surviving would be greatly appreciated.

I'm in no place to criticize this, but i'll give it a go.
If you plan to live hunter/gatherer do you have extensive knowledge of plants? Do you know which ones can be used as medicine, which can be eaten and which can't? You'll probably need something to supplement your hunting diet.
Along with that, once the Zombies have finished feasting on the people in towns and cities they'll spread out, so you'll have to compete with them for food and land.
This doesn't mean I don't like this plan though! :)
Do you find this valuable?
