If raiders start kidnapping people who they don't want to recruit or eat, they might sell them to other people for whatever use. I consider that slavery, even if they get eaten.
It is highly possible that kidnapping and rape will hit all-time highs, and many people may be kidnapped and sold to other groups.
It is possible that large gangs of raiders will rush through large cities, killing or recruiting the stronger and kidnapping the weaker to be sold as slaves.
The people who have been kidnapped as slaves will be used as sex slaves, be eaten, be zombie bait, or do menial work, such as digging graves, building barricades, cleaning up, or finding corpses. If you find yourself as a slave, depending on the work you do, here are a few ways you can escape.
Digging graves- Tell a guard that you have to use the bathroom, and when they approach, hit them with the shovel until they drop their weapon. Bury them in the grave and take their weapon and clothing. Then, just walk away, trying your best to sound like the guard.
Building barricades- If you see a zombie unnoticed, yell until it approaches and then bust down the barricade and allow the zombie into the base. The more zombies, the merrier. After the zombies get in, run towards the raiders, shouting that they broke down the barricades. After that, I can't tell you what to do.
Cleaning Up- If you are asked to clean up, just do it, it can't be that bad. Unless they are extremely mess or there mess is hazardous to your health, just clean it up until they tell you that you can go. It's not worth taking a human life or getting shot to escape a few years of being a maid.
Finding corpses- If you are tasked with finding corpses, hope that you find one with a weapon on it. Before touching ANY corpse, kick at it. It could possibly be a living human who can't move or a zombie with a broken spine. If you find a weapon, find out where the raider who is watching you is, then aim for their head or heart. Make sure that the first shot hits, and that the first shot kills. After that, take their weapon and clothing and RUN!
Slaves may also be used to search for things inside of buildings inside of buildings in abandoned cities.
Female slaves, and even some male slaves may be used for sexual purposes.
