Some time ago, I became interested in Japanese blades. Not being able to get one locally, or at least not one I could trust, I went on-line to research. After much looking, I finally found a useful site. However, after searching the ZSDW, I couldn't even find a reference to it. Even though many people here dispute the usefulness of the sword, many others are interested in it. So, here is the link to the "Sword Buyers Guide"
http://www.sword-buyers-guide.com/The Sword Buyers Guide, as it says, is dedicated to finding useful swords, for cheap, on-line. The host, Paul Southern, does a rather good job. He and the other reviewers will look on-line, purchase a blade, examine it in person, and then, most times, they will test cutting it on little everyday objects, like milk jugs. Some go the extra length and test on tatami cutting. And to boot, they do not only review oriental swords, but European swords, fantasy swords, and other "Slicers and Choppers", as they call them, as well.
On top of reviewing swords, they also have a sizable page dedicated to maintaining your blades, and a page dedicated to training (They do not offer training, but give descriptions and references).
Personally, my only wish is that they would also review other weapons like halberds or monk spades (Lord knows its hard to find theses, let alone be assured of quality.)
And on a final note, this page is open to additions from others who see fit to change the material.
