The Worst Case Scenario
TheSecondShooterWorst Case Scenario:
Its been two years since the first infection, the zombie plague devastated the globe. 99.9% of the worlds population is dead. During the first weeks of infection, the worlds government's where in chaos. Nuclear weapons where unleashed on the overrun cities in an attempt to slow the zombie hordes. It didn't work, infection reached it's critical mass, and a month later the infected where dying from starvation and exposure.Six months after the first outbreak, all zombie threats are gone. You and your family have survived, and with the help of 50 or so other
survivors that you have befriended in the two years since infection, you have build a small settlement. You still struggle day after day to meet the needs of your band of survivors. The radiation from the nukes have tainted the wild life, mutants are more common than healthy animals, and most are sterile and cannot reproduce. The stocks of seed where likewise affected by the radiation and you have been unable to grow enough food to sustain your group.Your settlement has gravity fed running water, and limited electricity provided by a generator but fuel is running 
low. You have a decent number of weapons left after two years, at least an assault rifle or shotgun for every able bodied man and woman, and most also have side arms. The ammo situation is not the best though. most rifles and sidearms only have two to three clips of ammo, and 15 to 20 shells for the shotguns.You gather a group of about 20 men to go on a large scale scavenging mission for
supplies and food.You plan to be gone no more than 2 days. You only have one working vehicle, a flat bed truck you are taking to help bring back supplies. For the most part you are all going to be on foot.
On the first night out you are awaken by your sentry and informed that a large
convoy of vehicles has just gone by on the nearby road. They believe that one of the vehicles was a tank. The convoy was heading back the way you came, and towards your town. You immediately break camp, and start heading back, but only the truck can travel with any speed.
By daybreak you can see black smoke in the sky in the direction of your settlement. When you are in sight of town you see that there are about 10 military type vehicles and one is definitely a M1A1 tank. There are at least 50 men with rifles around them, There are bodies in a line in the middle of town. Your generator is being loaded in the back of a transport truck, and you can hear the screams of women, and crying of children.
Your wife, children and everything you have to live for is in that statement, and the same can be said for the 20 men that are with you.
What will you do?

I honestly don't know what i would do in this situation. I would probably try to spot the leadership of the group, and possibly try to take them out quickly. Hopefully turn the tide in our favor. Something would have to be done quickly or you risk them loading back into the vehicles. Leaving with all your stuff, your women, and everyone else dead.

First I would cause a diversion, than use what I can from the generator to make a quick bomb, capture any other type of weapons and uniforms from soldiers, move the generator to the tank and detonate, during the confusion I would round up any of my survivors and drive off and dress the original soldiers that the uniforms came from as zombies and give them some kind of herb to screw their voices, if all goes well, the military will shoot the "zombies" and I would drive off with what is mine, with one generator short.
