Tuck Duck and Roll, my plan

Your Name: Your "handle" should we look for you on the radio waves or web:
Your location: Joker One (Scan the CB channels)

Tell us:

Is your plan dependent on zombies in your home town, or anywhere?
Not really, it's an offshoot of my basic disaster planning (as I'm not too impressed with FEMA).

Will you be staying in your home or headed somewhere else?
I'm be in my house for at least 3 months. I have enough food and access to a safe, secure water source to last at least that long. I have a secondary location to go to, but getting there could be a real adventure, as it's almost 300 miles away. If figure the herd will be thinned out by then, less chaos to deal with.

If you're heading out, how do you plan to get there?
Forget using a vehicle. The roads, highways and byways would be choked with abandoned vehicles.

My selected transportation is a mountain bike, because it's silent, easy to repair, fairly quick, fit's in tight places and if needed, I can drag it on a roof or over an obstacle (cant do that with a Harley). When wearing a small rucksack with a camelback and using cargo packs designed for the bike, I should be able to travel a couple hundred miles in a few days.

At the end of the day's travel, I'd find a roof top to spend the night and drag everything (bike included) up with me. Before taking off the next day, your already on the high ground to get an idea of whats going on (i.e. zombie locations or possible friendlies).

Got anyone you want to take with you?
My wife and the100 pound dog (mutt). There are a couple friends who may be able to accompany us.

How will you communicate with the outside world, or do you plan to go the hermit route?
We'll depend on portable CB's for contact with the outside world and walkie talkies within the group. Cell phones would be useless, as the cell towers require electricity to work and I doubt the local power plants will be functioning at all.

How are you planning to get food and water?
At the house: We have a minimum of 3 months of supplies.

On the road: Food bars, Mountain House and Datrex emergency food enough for 2 weeks. We'll also carry a gallon of water for each person, along with PUR water filter pump and other means to collect and purify water.

At our secondary location: We have access to a hand well and stream for water. Altogether there's about 9 to 12 months worth of food stored away.

What's your weapon of choice? Do you need to reload that thing? Gotta plan for that?
Primary weapon: For zombie a 22 cal is plenty, as head shots are a requirement. It's easier to carry 500 rounds of 22 cal than it is to carry 500 rounds of 12 gauge ammo. Besides 22 cal is a lot quieter. No need to reload the 22 ammo is so cheap you can buy a liftime supply for a couple hundred bucks.

My back up weapons are 1. A Ruger 22 cal pistol and 2. A large ball pean hammer (a real skull cracker, those Hells Angels use em)

Got a survival philosophy?
If it dont walk or talk straight, fry it.

Are you willing to hook up with other survivors?
Sure, as long as they pull their own weight. Slackers will be used for entertainment purpose's, such as dropping them off in front of a hoard of zombies with a nerf bat.

Is your plan based on a book/movie/blog/scientist we may have heard of?
Just my warped imagination and a few George Romero flicks.
