Several survival manuals have been tossed around on this site and although they all have their own pros and cons, most only touch on a specific area of survival such as avoiding detection and "how to" articles. The most well known (on this site at least) seems to be the SAS Survival Manual, but I have found another one that seems to touch on a wider variety of topics and goes into the same amount of detail. It is the U.S. military Field Manual 21-76. Below is the table of contents for the manual. All of the instructions on building traps, snares and shelter have detailed diagrams. I hope that this is of as much help to you as it has been to me.
