UK Weapons
These weapons are accessible to most civilians in the UK.
| Rounders Bat The humble Rounders Bat (similar to our American friends' Baseball Bat.) Nice and solid, lighter than the Cricket Bat, yet still packs quite a punch. Some argue that the Cricket Bat loses energy when it hits, and that would be another plus for the Rounders Bat. Head to the sports store for this one. | Cricket Bat What most loyal citizens of the British Empire should have in their houses. One good blow from a cricket bat can knock a human unconscious, and multiple knocks can cause severe brain trauma, which is a good thing after Z-Day. These are also found next to the Rounders Bat in the sports store. |
| Air Rifle Air Rifles are quite common, and quite accurate. Depending on the power of the rifle, it may be ideal for killing zombies, but be warned that some air rifles aren't that powerful. Not as powerful as a firearm, but cheaper. Can be purchased at sports stores. | Shotgun Owned by those who go hunting, or as antiques. Depending on the shotgun, you might be able to shoot two cartridges at a time, or it might be a repeating shotgun, with a magazine. Can be purchased at a gun shop, or privately. |
| Hammer Elsewhere on the wiki, the hammer has been disregarded as rubbish. However, in a tight situation, and in the right hands, a hammer might be able to severely damage the skin job, allowing you to escape. Head to the hardware shop for this one. | Axe Everyone has an axe! Even if it's only a hatchet. This may not be the ideal weapon either, but depending on the quality of the axe, it might just save your life, allowing you to escape. Check the camping or hardware shop for this one. |
| Chainsaw Contrary to popular belief, the chainsaw is not a very effective weapon, and infact could be quite dangerous. They are noisy, which isn't a good thing, they can (and quite often do) jam, they are heavy, and they require fuel. Stihl (get it?), it's better than nothing. Again, check the hardware shop. | Butcher's Knife Again, the Butcher's Knife is not an ideal weapon, but it might help you out of a tight situation. However, the Butcher's Knife is designed for cutting meat, not fighting zombies. Believe it or not, the Butcher's Knife can be purchased from a home goods or kitchen shop. |
The Bow has long been regarded as THE ultimate ranged weapon of humanity, being used for hunting as well as warfare. Bows are quiet, light, unpowered and safe, yet an arrow delivers enough force to pierce most living (or unliving) creatures. What's more, nowadays the ammo is highly re-usable (carbon-fibre shafts in the arrows make them a lot tougher than their wooden predecessors), and bows are quite simple to repair (relative to firearms). And, they are easily purchased from sport shops. Much more effective than many of the previous entries, as the bow is designed to kill. | Many air handguns do not have enough power to pierce the human skull, and therefore make them useless for killing. However, if the gun is powerful enough, it can be just as useful as a real handgun. Check the markets for one of these. |
| Nail Gun Nail guns are very powerful at close range, certainly powerful enough to pierce a skull. A handy piece of machinery to carry around, as they can also be used for quickly setting up barricades. Back to the hardware store for this one. |

you do realise that it's easier to find a baseball bat or cricket bat in this country than it is to find a rounders bat?!?!
I'd also like to point out that we can invent things in seconds, much like the A-Team or this MacGuiver chap that I hear about so often... In the UK, out most valuable weapon is the Shed! throw us in a garden shed fro an hour and we'll come out with a weapon capable of killing 10 zombies with the puch of a button! 90% of all the great things in life were invented by A Briton in a shed! |

The ZSG mentions bolt-action rifles, and seeing as the Lee-Enfield .303 is one of the best ever produced, it might be a good idea to use it if you can get your hands on it. Sure, it's an antique but it's sturdy, reliable, and has the smoothest bolt-action ever produced.

The Cadet GP Rifle is not bolt operated, but is cocked with a cocking handle which is much larger than the standard SA 80. It however is just as good as an SA80, packing the same punch on it's single shot rate of fire.
Also in Cadet centers Light Support Weapons are kept which are like the support weapon of the SA80, so this would be useful in dispatching Zombies. They also keep .22 rifles in those places with infinite rounds of ammunition which should be something taken into consideration. |

I own a few air guns and would like to say that I feel confident that they could defend my life from Zack!
I have a standard .177 B2 air rifle, decent power, very cheap and accurate enough to hit (and damage) zeds head from 25 metres (50 metres if you have a scope). I have a .22 Umarex 850 air-magnum. I LOVE this rifle. it's accurate, and when fitted with a scope, you can get some powerful shots up to 75 metres with a grouping of around 3 inches! Lastly, I own the Anics Skif A-3000 Co2 Pistol. It has a 28 shot magazine, fires .177 pellets and is semi-automatic. so you can crack off a whole clip in 10 seconds! At distances of 5-25 metres you could drop zed dead on the floor. nothing is gonna survive 28 pellets in the face! So to all the folks in the USA, you may have some crazy-ass weapons, but we Brits can hold our own with whatever we ahve on hand! |
