I live in VA and have a lot of experience in the woods so I plan to capitalize on that. My plan is basically an extended hunting trip. Weapons will be a 30-06 rifle, about 200 rounds I have saved up, a 12 gauge with about 150 00 buck shells and 40 slugs, hatchet, knives,75lbs draw bow, a little over a dozen arrows with extra tips, a judge revolver, about 50 .410 shells (mostly for finishing off deer).
My clothing from top to bottom is a blaze orange stripped cap and a camo beanie, a water proof hunting jacket with removeable liner, 3 shirts, a pair of shooters gloves and a pair of leather welding gloves, waterproof camo suspenders, 2 pairs of work pants, 2 pair of wool socks and 4 pairs of regular socks, A pair of jogging shoes and some waterproof composite toe camo boots. My truck is very capable of making it down trails and into the woods so I plan to base most of my plan around it. In the lockbox I have a full tool set to take apart almost everything. I am a decent mechanic and very good at fixing it. I currently do not have a roof on the bed but I do have one and can put it on when I need to. In the bed I can carry a tent if need be, plenty of food water (obtained before I leave from a well) and fuel, and my other supplies, and access them with ease. Keep the guns upfront. My plan is to head to the area where I grew up hunting, I know this place very well, where the stream is, where the river it leads to is, animal trails, different landmarks, I have a few stands in the trees. I will bring my brother. As I said I plan to live near my truck. Drive it to the place I want and park it and hide it. If it's warm out I can sleep in the bed if it gets cold I can build a fire in the bed. I do not plan on making a stand if zombies show up, I can run them over or shoot them with my bow. I have gone into the woods for a couple days at a time eithout needing to come out. I'm sure I can survive for a long time out there. |

I am now located in the Shenandoah county, Virginia. The climate is different, and my loadout has improved slightly. I am still aiming for highs peed, low drag, but I am much more focused in weathering the storm out, rather than evacuating hundreds of miles. What is contained below, is a "patrol" setup to keep my neighborhood clear of ZEDs.
Pack:TAG Combat Sustainment Pack Chest rig: UWGear Inc AR minuteman MKII Clothes: outerwear: M-65 Field Coat with cold weather attachments, gen-2 gore-tex parka and pants(woodland pattern) Midlayer: Proper A-TACS-FG top/bottom/headwear Footwear: AFboots 6'' boots. Shelter: Surplus woodland Gor-Tex Bivy/woodland 6'x8' brown poly tap w/ stakes food/water; 100Oz Source water bladder Swiss Volcano can 3 cans corned beef hash 3 cans ravioli Firearms/knives; Primary rifle- Kel-Tec SU16A: This thing is loud, and will probably only be used against raiders. The pack has mag-holders for three 30 round magazine, the chestrig has room for three more 30 round magazines. That is a minimum load of 180 rounds not counting the room in the butt stock for a 30 rounder, and the 30 rounder that rests in the magwell. Pistol: Hi-Point JHP .45ACP Heavy, but accurate, and highly reliable with just a wee bit of lube. The pack has room for one magazine(9 rounds), the holster has room for 1 magazine, I always have 10 rounds in the gun, and will be adding a two magazine holder on my belt here pretty soon. That brings it to a current round count of 28. Remember, pistols are for the "OH S***" Moments when your rifle no longer works Ruger 10/22 w/flashlight, sling, tec-sights | 500 rounds 11'' Anza knife(primary) 10'' Anza knife(secondary) cleaning kits for all! |

If SHTF than first I would probably freak the f*** out. But then after I calmed down a bit (*Cough* Probably after a few days *cough*) I would probably be pretty coherent.
Step 1. I would gather up all the supplies in my home, including; Crowbars, shovrls, and other similar heavy gardening tools, Books ( Zombie Survival Guide, Zombie Combat Manual, and Apocalypse How) Guns (mom's and Aunt's Glock 21s, and my pumpmaster 860 [yes I know it is a pellet gun, but hey if it won't penetrate the zed's skull than atleast I can hunt squirrels and such]) Food (canned goods, dried goods, MREs, wine, beverages, and a cooler full of some short term perishables) Step 2. Load up the car (either a Ford Escape or Nissan Murano) Step 3. Go to the neighbord and tag up (They have guns [.357, M14, Rem. 700, 1911, Barreta] food, a dog, improvised weapons up the wazoo, and brawn) Step 4. Commandeer a nearby Costco [i.e. kill those that resist and kick most others out] wait until either the power or supplies run out (which you know they will) Step 5. Then leave, raid and scavange any buildings that seem viable Step 6. Go to a flat area and begin to a small little village/settlement Step 7. Find settlers and slaves ( no not racially or otherwise discriminated [just based on d**chiness]) and begin to raise a society from the ashes. Step 8. Either ally or war with other settlements Step 9. Become powerful Step 10. Unite all clans and AKE OVER THE WORLD (That last 3 to 4 may be optional. Feel free to ask comment or criticize!!!!) |
