An easy way that I plan to survive the coming badness, is to, on Z-Day, murder my friend and family, and use their bodies as bait to lure the zombies away. Now, this may seem harsh at first, but I'd rather have them be useful in saving my own hide, than to allow them to live in a world where their most vivid and realistic fear is being torn limb from limb in a violent frenzy of rotted limbs.
The Second part of the plan, once my loose ends have been tied up, is to use the zombies that I kill, as more bait to draw them away, till I can get to a dock, or something such as that. Once I am on the dock, I will launch a boat, and pick the undead punks off from the ocean.

My plan for home defense against is to go up on the roof tops of my home with a ruger 10/22 (.22lr), a walther p22 .22lr sidearm(back up weapon), and snipe out zombies from about 100-150 yards, and best of all both guns have shared ammo which is an advantage. Now the .22lr is a weak cartridge, but if you aim for the sweet spot on the base of the skull, the .22lr will do the job on some zombies. This is just for staying home, I don't have a plan yet for fleeing, because i have ammo to last me years, and there's no need for that fleeing plan right now.

It's pretty simple, really. I live in a subdivision about 10 miles away from any kind of shopping and 20 miles away from any major population center. My plan is based on no support being available from any neighbor, and hopefully lasting at least one year.
First-water. We have an artesian well. Unless a water line breaks, we have water. If one breaks... well, pray for rain, I guess. Second-sanitation. We have a septic tank and drainage field. It requires nothing but running water to work. Third-food. We'll stockpile shelf-stable stuff, canned goods mostly, between now and then. There's room in our backyard to grow vegetables, and last year we gave it a try. We know we need to work on the soil a bit, it's kind of sandy, but it should work. Finally-protection. I have enough plywood to board the front windows and door over, and there's a six-foot fence on the back yard that butts up to woods. At the first sign of zombies I'd start reinforcing the fence with wood from both the woods and the front porch. While the fence won't hold off thousands of zombies, it should be good for anything under a hundred. The lack of heavy population locally suggests to me that our threat should be limited to a few to a dozen at a time, which we can pick off with the rifle or hit with the sledge. My "basement" is half exposed, and made of 5000 psi concrete. It has one window and one door. This will be the backup position. I will have a plywood cover to quickly nail in place with a couple of firing holes cut into it. Hopefully we'll be able to use the rifle to reduce any numbers in the yard, until it can be reopened, If not, then we will be facing malnutrition, but should still last a year.

Just go Anne Frank
Face it we all work, and i work within a 90 mile radius of my home, so the first thing i would do is head home. If i did head home, i would first have to hit up a day care and a baby sitter, witch i think would be the hardest part. with phone lines most likely blocked, i would know if my wife had got the kids, if my wife was alive, if the daycare workers just ran off, or what. I just wouldn't l know how the situation of getting my family home and safe would go, but i do know what i would do when i got home. I live on 3 acres in a rural area outside a medium sized city in central Virginia. I work on foreclosed homes, so i always have a generator with a few gallons of gas in my truck, so it is mobile. I have about 6 months of food stored for my family and a single 22. semi auto rifle with about 1200 rounds for hunting small game. After i secured my house with boards and gathered everything into a single location, i would cut a hatch in my roof and put a bug kit in the attic. I would then park a car with an open sun roof close to one side of my house. So what if my wife's car gets damaged from rain. having a car close by to the roof would allow me to distract any undead on one side of the house, while everybody got in the car. This would give us a way to leave in a hurry if we had to even if the house was surrounded. I think though by boarding up a house properly and being very quite, my home could withstand a zombie attack. even if they got in, we would hide in the attic the block the stairs, so eventually they would go away, even if it took months. Assuming that there are only a few hundred undead in my area, I would move my chicken coop closer to the house. I stock pile propane and gas, so i could run the generator once a month, just to fill my well tank and water heater and tubs and bottles. Then just wait it out. hunt squirrels and try not to get my wife pregnant again.

I know that this sound's highly unlikely to have but it's the best plan that I could think of that would create a zombie free environment and a place where I could begin to expand that zombie free environment or wait out the zombie pandemic.
All equipment, supplies, structures, and people would either be bought, constructed, or hired before a zombie apocalypse happens.

My Survival Plan:
I live in rural Queensland Australia so when the SHTF I'm going to bug into the area where I live. I live in a large valley 80km long and at its widest 15-20km There is only 1 Main way into the valley on foot and two smaller little know back roads. The total population of the area is little more the 200-300 people if that meaning that there will be few if any zombies about. There is one general store in the area that sells ammunition as well as vehicle part such as fan belts, oil, radiator sealants tubing as well as long life food. The store carries 5,000 liters of unleaded and 5,000 of diesel. Being a farming area there is also many properties around most have guns( most also not kept in gun safe’s but behind the seats of ute’s and the like) as workshops with oxy acetylene torches (blow torches) one even have a car hoist for performing maintenance on vehicles I would stay in this area until this had calmed down 2-3 months (maybe more maybe less) then start ranging out perhaps looking for other survivors. Thoughts Anyone? I'm open to ideas. |

If SHTF than first I would probably freak the f*** out. But then after I calmed down a bit (*Cough* Probably after a few days *cough*) I would probably be pretty coherent.
Step 1. I would gather up all the supplies in my home, including; Crowbars, shovrls, and other similar heavy gardening tools, Books ( Zombie Survival Guide, Zombie Combat Manual, and Apocalypse How) Guns (mom's and Aunt's Glock 21s, and my pumpmaster 860 [yes I know it is a pellet gun, but hey if it won't penetrate the zed's skull than atleast I can hunt squirrels and such]) Food (canned goods, dried goods, MREs, wine, beverages, and a cooler full of some short term perishables) Step 2. Load up the car (either a Ford Escape or Nissan Murano) Step 3. Go to the neighbord and tag up (They have guns [.357, M14, Rem. 700, 1911, Barreta] food, a dog, improvised weapons up the wazoo, and brawn) Step 4. Commandeer a nearby Costco [i.e. kill those that resist and kick most others out] wait until either the power or supplies run out (which you know they will) Step 5. Then leave, raid and scavange any buildings that seem viable Step 6. Go to a flat area and begin to a small little village/settlement Step 7. Find settlers and slaves ( no not racially or otherwise discriminated [just based on d**chiness]) and begin to raise a society from the ashes. Step 8. Either ally or war with other settlements Step 9. Become powerful Step 10. Unite all clans and AKE OVER THE WORLD (That last 3 to 4 may be optional. Feel free to ask comment or criticize!!!!)

The "UNDEAD EPIDEMIC"began while I was deployed to Iraq, the US Government recalled all overseas military forces home to deal with the dead.
At 1st we rocked those things, that is till we started to run out of ammo less than a month into our seek and destroy mission. The worlds greatest superpower could not produce enough ammo to deal with the epidemic!! Our forces were decimated as the infection reached global proportions and the military machine collapsed and many of us went "AWOL" to reach our families, I along with my buddies that I went through basic with all left together as we all grew up in the same Town and we took our M4's and our 38 caliber sidearms with us.I arrived home to find no trace of my wife and my daughter, I hoped and prayed that my girls were safe However, after a few days, my sadness turned into a resolve to destroy every "Z" I found. I was able to contact my Army buddies and we all agreed to deal with the epidemic in our own little corner of the world and since 3 of us were "Paranoid survivalists long before the infection hit the states, we were able to horde large amounts of ammo and weapons and MRE's, energy bars and enough distilled water to keep alive 20 people for at least 1 year and along with us 7 ,there were a dozen members of the other 6 soldier's families that joined us in our 4 vehicle convoy that consisted of 2 full size Chevy trucks and 2 off road vehicles. All 4 vehicles were up armoured so the dead could not get in! FAST FORWARD TO 2 YRS INTO THE EPIDEMIC IN THE NEXT POST.

I have almost all my supplies gathered up. My car in my storage garage is almost complete, and full. My plan is to gather everything up, I love my car so much, but sadly the place I am headed to is an island and would be difficult to get a car there. If there is any way to do that I will find it.In any case it doesn't work I will find the nearest twin jet and fly or find a boat to get to my location. I have my flyers license. My location is Mackinaw Island, at the Grand hotel. A vast mansion with provisions to last a few years. Few people reside on it which reduces the chance of infectious people there, plus no cars are allowed on it. No matter if there are a lot of zombies I have an arsenal big enough to take out Liberia if I wanted. I have a good shot, and am very smart. I am trained in several different types of martial arts and hand to hand combat. I also on the weekends train in Archaic combat with melee type weapons, mainly consisting of swords and machetes. This is not some story, it is very true, the way I was able to afford and accomplish all of this was because my family is very wealthy and my dad saw it fit for me to be like this. I am also an amateur in S.A.S. training for survival conditions and have studied how to track animals for hunting(which i am very good at) from Australian Aborigines for 2 months. The main things i will be concerning about during a zombie attack wont be lack of food, or anything like that, but I will mainly miss booze, drugs, and sex. I am a big time drinker, and I will take as much alcohol as I can take, i am also a heavy drug user, don't judge me I just find it eases pain sometimes when I train too hard. And as for the last, well... who really wouldn't miss it. I don't have a boyfriend, and maybe bisexual so my options are running very thin. Hopefully somehow it will all work out. I am 18, pale white, and am part Russian and part British my name is Lauren, and you may call me REAPER.

So, there has been a zombie outbreak. I first grab my pre-made survival pack and my handguns, rifles, and ammo. I drive in my Jeep to my friends house and get him. All of my friends have a survival pack and plenty of firearms. We call our other friend who is a bit of a redneck. He would drive over with his numerous, lethal weapons. We purchased a plot of land in northern Michigan several years ago, just 5 miles south of the canadian border. We camp in a cabin that we built there, about a month every summer. We arrive, secure the cabin, which is actually fairly large. We then sweep the surrounding 5 mile radius. There shouldn't be too many zombies, because the cabin is in the middle of nowhere. After that, we sort of hang around, and listen to the radio for further details. we have a fallback position accross the border, just in case
