Our neighborhood came up around me over the last 20 years by a developer-figures...so now, I have 2-major roads and several secondary roads running around us where once there were none. However, it does give us options for getting out, so we'll make the best of it.
I keep the car packed with a minimum amount of stuff (3-day pack; ammo first aid pack...). At first I thought about using the RXR to get out, but the biggest advantage there is its biggest vulnerability. So here we go: I have packed several "pallette loads" that is I have a stack of boxes for a litterally one-minute drill and they sit next to "we've got some time" boxes. Each contains similar items: (seed, pioneer tools, medicine, FD food stuffs...). Once gone, the residence will be put in a condition that no one can use what is left and you will never be able to "carry" all that you will need because being on a wagon train like exixtance is living artificailly and that is OK for 3-4 months at best. We are moving to a secondary location that is geographically secured to a degree with long steep ridges, water. I am also looking into getting a SAMIL2.0 for our ride out and after some tough times with food until our new garden can produce we should be OK. The thing for our plan is dictated by the area we are planning to go to. We have water pumps, push plows and we'll be living quietly off the grid and since it will be work in getting to us, those northern invaders, used to living in a big city are not likely to want to move in our direction. The first winter is going to be hard, especially for those who lack differetn skill sets and you are not likely to possess those if you have lived in a large city your whole life-dependant on others. As for friends and family, we have a couple that have "trade" skills and one has access to a mechanics truck (welder, air compressor, TOOLS...) where we are moving to, a farmer I know has a CNC machine. |

I'll give you a quick run down on my friends neighborhood. It's a small neighborhood that is pretty much a big
circle of houses with one large house in the middle. Behind these houses is a 7 ft high cement wall. There is only one way in and out of this small circular neighborhood My plan would be to load up my vehicle with what I have so far which is my B.O.B., M4 rifle and Glock 21, PR-24 baton, and a Ka-bar knife,15 canned foods I have in my cupboard, and the four 1 gallon jugs of water. I would then drive down the main street to my friends house which is a little more than a mile. (1.5 mi) When I would arrive at his house I would unload my gear and firearms. My friend so far has a Glock 21, ammunition, some food and water. We would then fortify his house by padlocking his side 7 ft metal gate which is the only access to his backyard. Next we would board up/barricade his bottom floor windows, except for his backdoor sliding glass door for a means of an exit. His top floor window that faces the entire neighborhood and the front of his house, would be set up as an observation post. This observation post would require one or two persons. One would have a scoped rifle of some type while the other would be his spotter. This next idea I'm still undecisive about. We would take my friends GMC denali, BMW, and my Chevy Malibu and align them in front of the entrance/exit of the neighborhood to create a roadblock into the community.

I hear of the news aobut a zombie outbreak, first i call all of my friends and family to come to my house (its pretty big),make sure that everyone brings everything that could be useful from sleeping bags to guns. after everyone is there we asses the class of the outbreak and set up ways to talk to others probaly short wave CB radios. then setup teams to go and loot near by gas stations exc and setup sign to a seperate base for survivors and refugee. have eyes on a few different points one on a high point on a hill and another is a grain elavator these will be the sub bases. then we will setup guard positions around the perimeter to keep watch and if we get over ran then we have a river a quarter a mile away so we can just float away in a few boats, any have info to perfect the design?

ok, it's Z-Day. I pick up my machete, a box of 22 shells, my rifle and my survival bag. i will then head out to rendezvous with a few trusted friends who know i will be there as soon as word reaches me. i've got a few country roads to travel and i doubt they'll be over-run by that time. our only real plan is to meet up and pool our resources, then go from there. i'm currently researching bio-fuels and ethanol manufacturing processes. i know a few guys that can make shine so i may get up with them in trying to make 200 proof to run a motorcycle on. Hopefully there's no parts in the engine that will dissolve when the ethanol hits.
my biggest concern is my own bank of useful knowledge. i try and add a little something everyday. whether it be how to make a makeshift raft or grow a certain food. i know a few purification processes for drinking water and a wealth of medical knowledge. remember, people get sick and eventually get eaten, books don't. eventually your ammo will run out so, stockpile on useful information. i'll update this shortly when i have a few more things under my belt. keep moving. kill as many as you can XxQuiZxX

Firstly, when I heard that Zombies had risen, I would get myself up stairs. I live alone so I would not have to cater for family also. I would make sure ALL my supplies and rations were also up here and other sensible items. I would also take a ladder. I'd then knock down my stairs, after boarding up and securing all entrance points obviously.
I would fill the bath and sink with water, before either supply is cut off or the water becomes infected. This would be drinking water for a few days, before it goes stale. My home supplies include two weeks worth of canned food, water fuel and other essential items. I would attempt to contact my 'Zombie survival team' on a radio stream that is always on. Living in the UK, it is much harder to obtain firearms but I am lucky enough to own a semi-automatic AR15, and various shot guns. I also have ownership of a Remington 700. After approximately 10 days, when all the crazy people causing havoc on the streets have died off, I would meet the rest of my team at a secret rally point. Secrecy is another part of the survival plan, we can not have n00bs interrupting and obstructing us. As we live in the suburbs, we would have to get to safety. We are all very skilled at certain things, as this will make everything much easier. For instance, we have someone in the team who is very good with cooking in the outdoors, and identifying poisonous plants and such. One member of the team is fantastic with electronics, mechanics and engineering. He also set up the radio system for the team. All the team are in great physical shape. We're all perfectly well armed, so to say, as we all have a weapon that can be fired - but nothing stupid - and a more trusted melee weapon (ranging from steam treated katanas to machetes to hatchets). We would make our way to an undecided location, to dig in on a more permanent basis. This is unfinished, let me know what I missed out! |

im 15 years old and live in Aberdeen. I am currently training to join the army. My plan would be to keep checking the news but still have supplies waiting . As soon as there is news that point to zombies i would immediantly tell friends and family then start packing a rucksack with food, clothes and a weapon. If zombies attack my house i would take my family upstairs and chop at the stairs. Once we dispose of them i would head to a local gun shop with my parents and get a hold of some guns then head out and get more food before anyone finds out about the panademic. My brother who is in the army might help us by moving us to a secure army base. If not i would head to my local shops. They have shutters on the front and gates at the back that are secure. We would stay until supplys run out then head out to a school which has gates round it. We would barricade the doors and stay on the top windows to make sure. Even if zombies can't get in, escaping would be easy if necessary in which we would find refuge in a nerby arpartment building temporary and just keep running never in one place at a time.
Please give constructive criticism

Hello, I am a 16 yr old NCO and marksman in the uk's army cadet force. In the event on zombie attack (or any other catastrophic event) I would hope to collect up as many of my friends (also army cadets) to form a defensive force. I would also try to collect as many of my family and loved one's in an attempt to protect them. I am a strong believer of the Dig in option as opposed to the Bug out method. I would hope to make my, or a friends house our HQ as I live in quite a remote area and leaving a strong hold to live in a much less defensible open area is insane. To start with our supplies would consist of food and water found in the house, Obviously the weapons would be very simple as I live in the uk and firearms are very rare outside of a government armed agencies. I have multiple large knives including a traditional bayonet for a 19th century rifle. I also have an air riffle with a 24x telescopic scope. To help us remain safe centuries would be posted in over lapping pairs, doing an hour stag before switching with another member of the defensive force. My plan "B" if i was unable to collect enough people to form a protective force for my (and other members loved ones) I would Dig in, with my family in my house. This would not change my choice of weapons or available food. It would affect our ability to defend our selves as there would be fewer people to participate in the century duties. In the long term I would hope to orginise re-con patrols (within the defensive force if it was available or just using family members in the even of plan "B") I would hope these Patrols would help us find more advanced weaponry, more food stores and more people to join our community/defensive force. I also think it would be important to watch for an alternative water supply as the tap water may not stay safe to drink indefinitely.
I would appreciate any constructive criticism you may have :)

This is my plan if a outbreak occurs.
Step One: When outbreak occours barricade windows with matress and metal framing, I live on the third floor so this isn't a main priority, i have one window too. Step two: turn on all water and fill tubs and sinks, if possible wait until everyone has left the apartments, are BCE every house, let them out and take there home, and do the same. Step Three: Fill all tubs with water on the remaining apartments, tell them to stay in the lower floor if you see anything that looks in pain or crying for help. Step Four: Move all food to a refridgerator, call friends to help with everything, let them help with barricading things and scavenging food. Step Five: Set up my radio my dad gave me (hes a trucker) and try to communicate with people, tell them to rendezvous to our location, but bring all supplies, we'll check you at the door or deny you if you have any sign of infection, tell them to go at-least 10 miles away from location if any sign of infection shows, setup barricades behind stairs and a movable matress, with 3 benches (in hallway) behind that, so that we can let people in, door is glass, i'l replace that with metal plated 4 paned glass, there is only one door to our apartment. Step 6: take ladder to roof and break it down after, get into the apartment through the roof and drop down that ladder to the third floor, cut ladder with fire axe (one in place of fire extinguisher and keep that in case of helicopter coming. Step 7: keep all decks clear, and use the third floor decks to have a lookout and plan what happens next. Message me about this.

Ok this is my survival plan
First of all I'd like to say that I live in an island, Puerto Rico to be exact. Most of the houses here are built like fortresses due to the hurricanes. Anyway First things first. I have been thinking of stocking up on food lately in case any thing happens with the 2012 stuff being brought up. For the first couple of days me and my parents would stay in the house. we have a tank which holds our water supplie that we can sanitize. We also always have 50 gallons of water around for drinking. My parents are old already. My dad is 67 and my mom is 58. We would board up the windows and bring our 4 dogs in. we would stay in the house for as long as we are permitted. If we run out of the stocked food, we have chickens and a bunch of different crops.. We have alot of bananas and plantains which grow very fast and are available all year round. We would gather my family here in my hometown to stay with us for as long as we can stay in the property. We would also try to keep contact with my family in my dad's hometown. When **** hit's the fan, and we can no longer stay in our homes we will coordinate. I have 2 uncles that own yacts. I have family that work in both the medical and law enforcement fields. I also have family that work in carpentry and masonry. My dad is a retired mechanic and bodyman. We would go to my uncles boat, bring in some small banana and plaintain trees as well as some chickens for eggs and meat. We would also take what ever weapons and supplies we can carry. Once we reach the boat we will meet up with my family from my dad's hometown in this island called mona, which is about 41 miles off the coast of the island.

Okay, here's my official CEDA-approved survival plan.
This plan has gone through a total of seventeen re-iterations and re-planning, usually because of new material coming to my attention. I've learned a lot from reading threads here and also watching films and reading books. I'll be hiding out in the allotments a few minutes away from my house. It's perimeter is fenced with barbed wire on the tops, and spikes in between the fencing parts. It also has lots of crops, lots of chickens and a few canisters of gas. The people there tend to keep weapons in their sheds (a few shotguns, rabbit snares, combat knives) and they also keep their gardening tools there as well. My uncle even has a small gardening flamethrower that he keeps there (which I won't be using often), and there are obviously shovels, scythes, pitchforks and other assorted sharp things that can be used as weapons. I and my party will patrol it before we retreat to our settlement. We will also place signs around the area stating that there are people alive inside and people should shout for attention. For a small fee of ammunition, food or whatever they can spare, they can stay with us for the night, day, week or month. My weapon of choice will be a Ruger 10/22 that I've been doing a bit of shooting with. I have three full boxes of ammunition including birdshot and buckshot. I'm somewhat proficient with it - I can at least hold my own at range. In addition to this, I have an old Winchester 1500 XTR (Shaun of the Dead much?) and my uncle has a Remington XP-100. I'll admit that I haven't shot that one yet, but I'm sure the undead will be good target practice. My partners will be my family only. I have no friends. My sister and her boyfriend, my parents, my other sister and her kid. All of them have been forcibly briefed in Zombie occupation and I've got their combat and non-combat inventories on record.

I live in the North of The Netherlands and this is my plan:
If i hear about a outbreak or something like that i'll go to my home and together whit my family we barricade the home and destroy the stairs. then we search our home for usefull stuff (most of it allready in my room on the top floor). now the stairs are destroyed and the home barricaded the zombie's will not reach us. the next day we'll go to the local Super market and take everything we need for a long time. i will take the stuff from the refrigerator's i know how the code of the lock to open them cause i work there. after having the suply's head to my friends house thats near the market check if he's OK and see if he is willing to join us in our foritfied home. Then watch/hear the news closely on radio and television and try to get information about a bigger holdout place thats near (probebly the military airforce base about 7 miles away) and if not planning to go to the north scandanavia. the weapons we have at home are: 2 baseball bat's, 1 crowbar, 1 wood axe, 1 spade, lots of kitchen knife's and pen knife's ( we live in the Netherlands so gun's are illegal. i hope you guys have tips for me to improve my plan.

I live in Kirkland, Washington, a suburb of Seattle. I have yet to buy a firearm; so in the meantime, I will have to do with my air-powered pellet rifle (maybe I will buy one later). Although it is a terrible means of defense, and could easily get me eaten by zombies, it is all I have. No one needs to remind me that a pellet gun is a dumb idea. It would be temporary, and I wouldn't use it if I had a firearm. I will have to take my only chance, and be very careful. I will pack a very light backpack including food and a large kitchen knife, and hot wire a car with the pellet gun beside me. I know of three gun dealers in my area:
Discount Gun Dealer Another Discount Gun Dealer, about the same distance in the other direction Big 5 Sporting Goods Big 5 is the closest, and they have a basic selection of rifles/shotguns. They even have a couple of .22LR AR-15s'. I have shot my family's firearms before, and I know how to safely perform basic operations, like loading a magazine, and cocking; so I have enough experience. The next thing on my list is to find a good permanent vehicle. There is one important thing that I am looking for: fuel. We all know that after a while, the vehicle is going to run out of gas, and gas pumps may not be operational. I will choose a large diesel truck. Diesel trucks, on average can travel further without refueling than a gasoline truck of the same size. Also, you can easily produce your own bio-diesel. Bio-diesel will work in any regular diesel truck, and is made from vegetable oil, methanol, and lye. All three of these ingredients can be homemade separately, and then mixed. Now, that I have firearms, and a safe vehicle to stay in, it is time to look for survivors. I don't have any way of telling how many survivors there would be, but this plan is based on the scenario that there is probably about 1 survivor in 1000 people.

Although I hope there will be no "zombie apocalypse", it would not surprise me in this day and age if there was, due to all of the governments mucking about with nuclear radiation and such. My friends and I have batted around a few plans and have come up with a justifiable plan. Although it may be risky, I'm all for it.
1. There is a Hummer shop in my town, and that's our first stop. With the back seats ripped out it will make decent transport vehicle, given that my chosen safe place is about an hour and a half away. My neighbor, who is a decent gunman and taught me to adequately fire a gun, will grab another. 2. Of course, I will have to go and pick up those chosen friends. If they are infected, than obviously they won't be along for the ride. My group will be NO BIGGER than 15 people until we are at the safe house. 3. On to the town army surplus, from which we will gather the necessary weapons. I will let the members of my group choose their own weapons, although I will strongly recommend a shotgun and require all of them to carry a magnum as a secondary weapon. 4. Gather up a few necessary items that we cannot get at the safe house, including iodine drops for cleaning water when our supply runs out. (Don't worry, you WILL find out where the safe house is eventually.) 5. Time to move out. Our eldest member, most likely my father, will drive the vehicle, while the rest of the group is in the back. The windows will stay up for most of the drive. My neighbor will have a group also. 6. There is a mall about an hour and a half from my town, and I figure there will be very few zombies that will have stayed there. If the disease struck with people inside, by the time we get there, everyone will already be zombies and out elsewhere searching for a new food source. 7. Fortify the mall and hold out. There are several clothing stores and food stores, so we will have plenty of supplies.

Welp, Ive had this plan in my head, and have discussed it with my friends, for quite awhile. Glad I get to post it up somewhere, finally.
My area makes it rather hard to make an effective plan. While my neighborhood is farther out from the local population centers, it's layout makes escaping difficult; it's a tight street grid. In addition, considering the rest of my family is neither interested in hunting nor receptive to the "Zombie Apocalypse" theory, our only effective firearm is a small handgun (Im not sure exactly what it's name/model/caliber/ammo is, unfortunately). 1. Notify Casey - Casey is a very good friend of mine, and shares my interest in zombie survival and theory. This will allow him to enact his own initial plan, which will meet with mine later on. 2. Obtain empty pack, BOB, and get parents moving - I'll need to get my parents to bring along the handgun, and any empty packs they have will be useful. Plus, the more people there are, the better chance we have of getting out of the tight streets without being infected. Also, for future reference, my BOB contains the following: - 1 high-efficiency LED flashlight w/ unused batteries - 4 D-cell batteries - 6 small packs of beef jerky - 12 bottles of water - can opener - 4 cans condensed milk - 6 cans assorted canned vegetables - 1 Daisy Tournament slingshor - 1 flint striker (meant for bunsen burners, but, it works) - 8 seed packets, suited to the local climate 3. Pack any useful, non-BOB supplies into the empty packs.- While neither me nor Casey can convince our parents to keep much surplus, beyond the BOBs. However, I imagine we'll have at least a few extra sealed drinks (water, gatorade), non-perishables, and light supplies easily available, before we absolutely MUST go. I intend to grab my aluminum baseball bat, simply for it's ease of use and strength.
