This is not the longest plan, but its a good one.
Part One: Prep.
Preperation should start with making your BOB first. In my BOB i have put the bare essentials, stuff that i will need to survive. Not to make life comfy, but to survive. This includes: survival knife w/ compass. map of surounding area, water purifier, waterproof matches, canteen, gun cleaning kit, 1 extra pair of pants, 2 extra shirts, 3 extra pairs of socks, 30 ft. of rope, small tarp, compact sleeping bag, 2 boxes of jell-o (lots of calories for long treks), 3 rolls of toilett paper, and a first aid kit. Any more and I'd get eaten. Besides making a rock solid, well thought out plan, you dont need anything else.
Part Two: When Shit Hits The Fan
My intended destination is a woodchip manufacturing plant in a small town at the base of the Black Hills of South Dakota. This town is called Whitewood, and the sawmill (woodchip plant) is at the center of town. From my house, which is 3 miles away, i will take my Jeep Grand Cherokee Larado to the center of town. Of course my Jeep will be full of guns, ammo, food, and fuel, but all that is incase i cant make it to the sawmill.
Part Three: From Shack, To Fortress
The sawmill is easly defended. it has only two windows, a tower, and large roof. the least secure spot though is the large loading bay doors, byt they are high off the ground. Every thing we will need is in close proximity to the sawmill. There is a hardware store across the street where we can get steel and fencing materials, a gas station/ grocery store just down the road, plenty of wild life running around, ranches and farms nearby, and a river less than a mile away. With all these around plus a ton of houses to loot, we could practically wait out the apocalypse by letting them rot away.
Part Four: Stuff Might Go Wrong
What if we exhaust our resources? For one, doubtfull that would happen. But just in case, my group and i would go the convoy route. While in the sawmill we would be modifieing our vehicals to become huge badass battle wagons. we'd roll out and kill as many as we can.
Well that pretty much sums it up, but if you have suggestions i'm an open listener.

excellent plan dude. and jello? i never thought of that haha. With all the natural and close by resources and easily defensible fortress it would be hard for an infiltration. Overall, 10/10. great plan, good luck and Happy Zombie Hunting (:
