I was wondering if it was possible to implement into this site a "Zombie Threat Meter" this would be similar in appearance to the DEFCON system or say the "National Threat Level" meter. This would be on ALL pages at the top of the site with various levels ranging from say: Level 1> No threat. Level 2>Sparadic Reports UNCONFIRMED. Level 3> reports flooding in with limited confirmation. Level 4> Confirmed -Outbreak and Level 5> Worldwide Outbreak. I know it would of course be difficult but we should try and implement a sort of command center online so we can maybe be better aware as to what is going on. Obviously this would be a prime breeding ground for false reports, misinformation and trolling but we need to figure out a way to warn people if there is indeed a real outbreak.

I believe an interactive scenario page would give a way to create a way to use what we learn in a simulated and virtual simulation.

I am fairly new to ZSDW. I have not posted much thus far because I do not want to repost something that has already been discussed to any length. One of my only complaints is that when searching the site, the search capability is too simple for such an info heavy site. I would like to be able to conduct some type of advanced searching to narrow my searches- e.g., keyword in title, limit search to just profiles, etc. I am having trouble using just the search filters. I am not sure if this is possible, but for recent new members such as myself, it would help me get up to speed much quicker.
One example: I would like to find/view other members BOBs. I have spent countless hours trying to view profiles, but I either am having trouble finding many or end up getting distracted with reading the additional material (my problem, I know). I understand that the more a user reads, the better, but I do not have the time with a job, wife and kid to spend hours a day searching a site that deals with zombie enthusiasts as a zombie enthusiast myself. I still need to have a life outside all things zombie (again, my problem, I know). Great site. Thanks to all the admins/mods for your hard work! ~Bell |
