I being a mod i read tons of pages and we talk about places to hide, what supplies to take, and who to take but theres only one thing i havent seen a page on. WHAT ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT POST Z-DAY ITEMS!!!
i mean come on lets think batteries, med's, cleaning products do expire and will be of no real use after the exp date. So i want to know what you think heres what i want you all do, below i want a list of atleast 5 items that u think are REALLY important and 5 that you can care less for. ( no flaming or your post will be removed )

7carslalom:
I'm not thinking about going on a zombie killing rampage, I'm thinking about surviving. Of course, like any human, I am going to want to set a few on fire and get a couple headshots, but wiping out the 304,590,175
zombies in America is not my first priority. I'm planning to let the military or medical science to fix the zombie problem. And don't call me a pansy, it's the smart thing to do. These are not in order.1.Reliable Transportation (anything with a large MPG and cargo space)
2.A Group of People that you trust (friends and family)
3.Location (a rural area)
4.Provisions ( I'm going for the rural farm survival technique. So I'm thinking of some chicken coups, a small orange orchid, and wheat patches)
5.Morale (keeping everyones spirits up is one of the most important things, If they don't have the will to live, then it's just over.

Alicestar:
electrical stuff....hand cranked/solar powered shyte (think green)
Soap... (Boiled yucca root is used here in NM alot)
fire..... hell a magnifying glass would be your longest lasting bet
asswhipe.....anything that isnt of value for anything else (people magazine, esquire, vogue ect)
floor cleaner.....hooch, moonshine, whatever you call it its easy enough to make (sugar+ yeast+time= all purpose cleaner/ antiseptic/ painkiller/ coleman stove fuel)
Clean water.....rain barrels and well water if you can find it!
read a few survival guides and you will see that you can make almost anything you need from stuff you have!
a few guides i suggest are
1. the Special Forces survival FM.
2. ranger handbook (all volumes)
3. green solutions guides (tree hugging hippies have good ideas when used for Z-day)
Cylon1994In my opinion here is the list of importances as follow(s)
1. Food and Water (So you can live to raid another day)
2. Weapons (So getting in and out of your raid will be easier and less deadly)
3. Poeple (Good social status among survivors is pretty usefull)
4. Excercise Equipment (Pretty important that your in good condition and being cupped up in a small fort won't help)
5. Generators (Good for many things)
6. Cleaning Supplies (Without them I'm just as likely to get a different virus)
7. Vehicles (To carry all this stuff in!)
That is pretty much most important to me until about 10 years have passed then I will get construction equipment and build a large city sourounded by large thick walls and start over.
Andy REDDSON:¡SEEDS! And bullet re-loading equipment.
After that, water purifiers and a metal working/fabrication shop.
After THAT, a nearby junkyard (part for vehicles and other equipment).

----------------
Bring along
-----------------
1. alcohol (dulls pain, anti-septic)
2. radio (communication)
3. batteries (for any usable and useful appliances)
4. crowbar (the most useful tool for reconnaissance and scavenging)
5. scalpel (medical emergencies)
-----------------
Leave behind
------------------
1. any food in the freezer ( you'd better eat that food within a few days or just leave em to rot)
2. chainsaw (OK... don't you even think about carrying around a big chainsaw, it will wear you out carrying it and it needs gas...)
3. music appliances (waste of battery life and could attract the enemy to you)
4. strike on box matches (if you lose the box they're useless, strike anywhere matches it doesn't matter)
5. useless books (books with agricultural information or other helpful info is OK but you won't have much time for reading out of enjoyment)
BigBDave:1.) Seeds and gardening equipment.
2.) Medicines and Medical Supplies ( anti bio-tics, pain killers, surgical equipment, medical and drug book.
3.) Alternative Transportation ( 2 to 4 Clydesdale's, and 2 wagons ).
4.) Tools ( mechanical, out doors, gas welders and cutting torches, and etc. ).
5.) Secure rural location ( farm or house with land ).
Don't Care
1.) Gas vehicles ( there won't be gas for them after a year or so ).
2.) Re- Building society as it is now ( just live and enjoy life with people I know and trust ).
3.) Technology ( Welcome to the new dark age ).
4.) Religion ( No more B.S. ).
5.) Fast Food ( It's bad for everyone any way ).
Learxst:Some of the stuff is fairly obvious... like guns, ammo, and other zombie repellants... but many need to think in the long term...
1) A folding shovel with a sharpened and Serrated edge. (Works just like, if not better, than a machette)
2) A Medium range rifle, with plenty of ammo
3) weather approprite clothes (Depending on your destination)
4) Sterile gauze, and rubbing alchohol
5)An army survival guide that is commonly available at any Barnes & Noble (This book contains information that can keep you alive and out of sight. It instructs how to make an underground fire, so there is no light for your enemies to see. It describes how to catch rabits, birds, and other delicious animals. Which plants are, and which plants are NOT poisonous. Fruit bearing trees. Which animals, spiders, and reptiles to aviod, and so much more.)
DaveBall
- Family and Friends ( most live within 10 mile radius ).
- Lumber for building or fortifying.
- Medication and Medical Supplies.
- Fire Wood, and Propane
- More solar panels and batteries.
Don't Need:
- Security Cameras ( I have 12 up in different areas of the barn and house ).
- More Guns ( we have allot now, close to 200 between all of us ).
- Electricity ( I use little commercial power now. I have 10 Solar panels and batteries, and we water the animals with wind mill well pumps).
- Religious Fanatics
- More Reality T.V. Shows.
MichaelRiley1. Hand cranked lights, just in case, and they can only last five years each so yeah, two or three of them.
2. Canned food. Yeah need that.
3. Medication, just the basic stuff, you're going to get unhealthy eventually but you don't want team members to bleed to death.
4. Some board games or something. Just chess even. When the power is gone you have to do SOMETHING.
5. I have a water tank, so water isn't a huge issue, so probably..... well weapons. Bladed ones. I don't want to use them but in the case I must, they need to be there:.
DON'T need:
Family (don't want them around, try to get them evacuated),
CHURCH (my parent's crazy psycho church, no offence, would just do things all the wrong way, and I'd be glad to not go every Sunday)
Other people (I'd have a few friends and that's it),
Hygiene (turn the undies inside out and it's fine)
Stress; honestly, I think a zombie invasion would be lovely compared to the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Bring it on.
mehillus: stuff id bring:
