cormacr9:Why fight zombies. It's much better to hide, run and barricade your self away from them. There's no need to sit on your roof and balcony and waste time by killing them.Only kill when you are moving location or raiding and even then don't kill any unnecessary zed's either. The only thing that separates them from us is our emotions so don't forget them and go on a killing spree. The time could be spent barricading your House so you never have to fight. Also, don't bring everything like a crowbar, machete, shotgun, pistol and sniper when you only need a pistol and a knife because you only need to use them for close encounters. What are your views.

GarrettZhunter: I agree with alot of you all say about killing the zombies, but think about this, there is rougly 6billion humans on earth. (I think) but that makes a good example, there will probobly be about 1mill-500,000 of us left, even less, think about how much ammo and people we will need to kill every single...zombie.., also think about the aftermath, imagine this zombie virus starts at say 2012, now say in 2016 all of the zombies are dead, (we think) imagine, theres prolly some in the desert, sewer drains, in places there people dont normally go, it only takes one more person to get bit and start it all over again, oh wait theres prolly only 5 of us left by then. (LOL) to tell you the truth, if zombies do come alive, we are virtually screwed.

Yoshiling: I like what HeavenlySword said about the "Zombie Supression Missions". I agree with the hunting once you have a very
secure base to fall back on. I think there should be a clear objective when you set out on your mission so you don't waste
all your ammo or take any unnecessary risks. Maybe have a quota in mind when you set out or even a plot of land or a
small but strategic building you think needs to be cleared. If you go out just to kill with no other goal, then you could very
well waste your supplies.

HeavenlySword: Although many argue for going out there and just killing z's, nobody in my team will go out after Z's until we have reached safety, our final fortress. Then we can send out people to go on missions, including just Zombie Surpression missions. Also, think about it, your weapons don't weigh that much if you choose carefully; and while you don't need to go UberKommando and carry nades and 12 firearms, its generally a good idea to have your primary and backup firearms and melee weapons at all times, and have like, your BugOutBag essentials.

Less of them means better odds. Whats easier to fight, 30 zeds after 20 have been sniped, or 50 all at once?

McSkullcracken: Why kill zombies? To eradicate them. Leaving zombies wandering around gives them a chance to infect living people and create even more zombies that threaten your existence. True, you don't need to kill every zombie you come across(sometimes survival does mean running and/or hiding), but if you can safely get rid of one, you really do yourself and the rest of humanity a service. Less zombies = less danger for you and anyone else you are with. You might as well kill one zombie now than wait and face ten zombies later. But taking unnecessary risks or wasting precious supplies to kill just one zombie, well, it kinda defeats the purpose of survival if your solution to one problem creates multiple other problems.

KaikelX: I agree with McSkullcracken. When it comes to zombies, have an assassin's mentality. Take them out as targets of opportunity. This only applies when you are with a small band of survivors. Also, for all the guns you have, see if you can buy silencers for them. They cut down on the noise and muzzle flash, attracting less zombies which translates into an easier time getting away. If your caught in a massive campaign to liberate the world from zombies in the middle of a pitched battle, then it is safer to start killing zombies. Noise won't be a concern due to the fact that the battle is causing massive noise already.

The Professional: If you have left the safety of your barricade...a pry bar is a very important item. Should you get caught by the Zeds or marauding humans, you have the means to quickly open up a locked door or barricade to find cover or a place to hide. But McSkullcracken and Kaikelx are right, the only way to end the zombie's invasion to eliminate them. By allowing them to wander freely, only killing them when they become an immediate threat, they rule the world. They win. I personally will be one of the many that actively seek out zombies in order to kill them. Now I know that this decreases my life expectancy, but its the only way to get back what belongs to us as humans.

I agree. However I would probably go crazy with the thought of not doing anything to save humanity. I mean most zombies will go away in the first 3-5 years due to decay and I will probably think "Why not speed up the process" I totally see where your coming from though. Like in 28 Days Later all they did was run and hide until the "Infected" ran out of food and died. I think this would be a viable strategy in the event of Zombies with Shorter Lifespan.

Why fight? If we don't, we die. Simple as that. Running away and hiding in a zombie-proof bunker is only good if you have food and resources to last you the rest of your life. Last I checked, that is a lot of food...
You will have to come out sooner or later, and when you go out, odds are that there will be zombies there. So, you will be forced to fight sooner or later. might as well be from day one.
