Hunting and stalking are acts that require active brian function. Considering that the brain ceases to exist after loss of oxygen, the brain cannot reason and thus cannot formulate strageties for hunting and stalking. You must consider than, that large zombie attacks are simply targets of opportunity. If you don't go uot of your way to bring attention to yourself, you should be able to avoid an immediate attack. at least until you can join up with other survivors in a secure location.
From that point on, you can begin zombie hunting in earnest.
