I wasn’t too sure if this was the right place to post this but if not I wouldn’t mind at all if you moved it to the rightful place. Anyways…
The IPhone and IPod. I have recently noticed that many people own one of these gadgets among themselves. I for one recently purchased one as well and put some thought in buying some apps. Although I came to consideration on how this gadget would be useful when I am stuck in a survival situation. For instance, what if you weren’t too sure what to do when stranded in some climate region or a fellow survivor is injured. Now I fully understand that keeping these gadgets on for quite awhile shortens the battery life in a matter of time. Unless you know a way of recharging it you can use the right apps to help you out of certain problems. Relying on technology will usually get you nowhere in this circumstance but I am willing to use whatever help I can get in the time being. I also recently found a free app called WebMD mobile that guides you through medical emergencies. Let me know on what you think about this app. If you know of any other app that could relate to this please feel free to post. Oh, and be sure to say your reason why the app would be useful. I appreciate any opinions and helpful thoughts on this. Thanks :D -Xepherus

Imagine you had a battery powered laptop with infinite batteries and wireless internet and a printer and a mouse and a webcam and such, what would you do with it? All ways to send e-mails are down, as well as any ways to contact help. You can only communecate via the zombie survival and defence wiki.
I would just search everything about zombies and play some Left 4 Dead or Dead Rising to learn more.

personally i believe (at the begining) setting up a LAN would be easier and more effective than attempting to setup a 'ghost' of the internet. A Lan is not only cheaper to aquire equipment for but requires less power and technology than a internet(ghost) and still allows information transferance and communication.

The internet would surely fall within the first few weeks/months, the real need is for people to obtain Shortwave or HAM radios for long distance communication to the other Living colonies around the world, A Shortwave Radio can (at the right time of day) travel half-way around the world!

Isn't there a technology out there, that every time someone steps on it it creates a small electrical charge?
Could we maybe install that into the floors of our fortresses, and if we can manage it outside where the zombies are constantly shuffling around?
