i know that shaolin monks have made excellent staffs out of this type of wood. it is light and very flexible but durable enough to break open clay baked pot ( which is much harder than a z-skull) so you could sharpen one end to a pointfor penetration and the shaft itself is hard enough to colapse skulls

Im sure if you found a baseball bat made of birch or maple or any good hard wood would work just fine. and if your lookin for a little more weight and damage capability, take some chain and coil it tightly around the bat and screw the chain onto the bat. Putting some nails or screws into the head of the bat also would do some damage.

capable of taking the skull apart with a single blow this tribal weapon is small and easy to carry, worth looking into. You could probably make one in a day in a wood shop
