ZERT Module 2: Weapons of Opportunity Objectives of the drill: - To develop and hone the ability of a survivor to seek out, acquire and utilize weapons of opportunity.
- To enable survivors to acquire weapons without hesitation or delay.
- To enable survivors to recognize which available WOO are the most efficient.
Equipment for this drill: ZOPFOR: Protective gear (recommended)
Scenario: Random assorted Weapons of Opportunity, as prescribed for each scenario by the Instructor.
Overview: ZOPFOR will present to the player in either (both) an open or enclosed space. The player will have to seek out and acquire a weapon from an assortment of random objects in the room or nearby.
It's just that simple. This drill is intended for one player, but can be modified to accommodate multiple players, as well as ZOPFOR as the players advance.
This Module can also be incorporated into training scenarios of other modules, which is recommended for advanced training.
Weapons of Opportunity recommended for this course: - Medium to large sized rocks, or concrete debris
- construction debris (rebar, lumber)
- furniture (table or chair legs)
- tools
- sporting equipment
It is also recommended that the instructors place less-desirable WOO into the scenarios so the players learn to recognize which weapons work better than others, which items break easily, etc.
This is a very brief, simple Module, and is meant to be combined with other training.
