The Zombie Survival Guide is your key to survival against the hordes of undead who may be stalking you right now. Fully illustrated and exhaustively comprehensive, this book covers everything you need to know, including how to understand zombie physiology and behavior, the most effective defense tactics and weaponry, ways to outfit your home for a long siege, and how to survive and adapt in any territory or terrain.
World War Z
By Max Brooks
A future history in the style of Theodore Judson's Fitzpatrick's War. World War Z tells the story of the world's desperate battle against the zombie threat with a series of first-person accounts "as told to the author" by various characters around the world. A Chinese doctor encounters one of the earliest zombie cases at a time when the Chinese government is ruthlessly suppressing any information about the outbreak that will soon spread across the globe. The tale then follows the outbreak via testimony of smugglers, intelligence officials, military personnel and many others who struggle to defeat the zombie menace.
I Am Legend
By Richard Matheson
First published in 1954, this book inspired 4 movies, but the real value is in the descriptions of living in an abandoned city. The plague that sweeps the country is not a zombie plague, but the situation followed is not all that different from any zombie survival challenge - stay alive when others want you dead. Live on food you can find, grow, or hunt. Face your fears. Deal with loneliness. And work on your aim...
This book is truly a masterpiece. As well as being superbly written, this work inspired George Romero to create his first Night. In short, we owe the modern zombie's existence to this novel. I HIGHLY recommend this.
Free, online series of zombie and horror novels from David Wellington: Monster Island, Monster Nation, Monster Planet, and the newest Plague Zone. Also available in standard offline book form.
Day by Day Armegedon by J.L. Bourne. The author is an active duty naval aviator. This self- published novel, written as a journal of an anonymous survivor whom mirrors the author, is a stunning and action filled adventure. Due to its early popularity, the book has been reissued and is available at Amazon .com.
Field Guide to the Apocalypse by Meghann Marco
Movie survival skills for the end of the world. This humorioous and informative book looks at the concept of surviving the end of the world by using tried and true methods from movies. Divided into three parts : The false utopia, the neo midivel world and the advanced technological dystopia, the author covers all the bases in post-apoc. survival, based on films we have all seen before.Special note to p.87re. ZOMBIES
Zombie Humor:
Although there is nothing funny about the threat of an actual zombie outbreak, here is a small collection of amusing items that remind us how to keep our sense of humor. It's one of the things that separates us from them.
