the most useful weapons are widely available, easy to use and maintain, and can put a z down with minimal effort. That said there is no substitute for an Ak47. They are everywhere, their 7.62x39 ammo is ubiquitous. They have uncanny reliability and devastating firepower. They can hold their own in tight quarters and are decent out to 300-400 yards or so. Not that you will be sniping zombies but who knows. Thats the gun to have. As far as melee weapons, i would love to have a good katana. The chances of finding one thats battle capable are slim. My alternative is rather simple. A good length of steel pipe with an elbow end. Not to difficult to find. The elbow end will give you the skull penetration you need without the getting stuck like an axe.
