This is a place for everyone to post what they believe to be good deals they've found on the internet.

Its great to find a good deal and even better when you can pass that info on to your friends.

http://www.palmettostatearmory.com/2276.php

I believe this rifle kit is a good deal. Its a complete AR-15 midlength w/ adjustable stock, flat top upper and a stainless .223 Wylde barrel. $499.99 plus shipping and handling. All you have to provide is a stripped lower.

Feel free to share links and info on other kinds of survival gear and weapons you've found.

LJ126 ZSDW WELCOME WAGON!! (page: 1 2 3 4) 61 Apr 24 2013, 8:09 AM EDT by TheZenPool

If you're new to the site and haven't introduced yourself, go ahead and do so here!

We're all members here for the same reasons - we all love zombie movies and wonder, "What will happen if it really did happen? What would I do? Is my family safe?" That's what the site is all about. Contained within is a wealth of survival skills and preparedness knowledge, as well as product reviews and gear ideas from seasoned survival-types. There's also a lot of lighthearted discussions and what-if scenarios to wrap your brain around.

If you have any questions, feel free to open up a new thread and ask the crew. Don't mind some of the grouchier members here; we can't figure out what's wrong with them, but we theorize that they either smoked too much or were dropped as infants! However, most people here are very friendly and understanding that the new folks don't yet know the ropes, and will be more than happy to point you in the right direction. If anyone harasses you (we've had some problems with that) let me or another moderator/administrator know - we're more than happy to set things straight.

It would definitely benefit you to check out the site and get to know your way around, but the content inside the Administration and Moderation Articles section on the left is especially important. There are a few "newbie" guides, our Code of Conduct, and information about the ZSDW staff members. Most of the content on our site is oriented towards adult-aged users, but that doesn't mean horseplay isn't allowed... just be mindful of others' feelings when you post and you'll be fine!

Please fill out your profile if you haven't done so. We'd love to learn more about you! Send me a PM if you need any help putting it together, I'm more than happy to help out.

BTW - I'm Jon. Nice to meet you. Thanks again for joining the site!

LJ126 RUN. HIDE. FIGHT. Surviving an Active Shooter Event (page: 1 2 3 4 5 ... last page) 149 Aug 9 2012, 2:57 PM EDT by tvercetti1

You may note that at 0:59, a TX "30.06" sign is in place. TX CHL holders know this sign well - it's the sign that makes your entry with a concealed weapon into a crime. Notice how effective that sign was at stopping the Active Shooter in this video... but it does ensure that no lawfully armed Texans are in that facility.

Enjoy the video! I believe it's spot on.

LJ126 Policy Regarding Blatant Advertisement... 0 Apr 27 2012, 12:09 PM EDT by LJ126
Thread started: Apr 27 2012, 12:09 PM EDT  Watch
The ZSDW staff takes a strong stance against unapproved solicitation. This policy exists to prevent the threads from being taken over by spam. Some of these links could be malicious and harmful. The reason we have an approval process is so that we can screen individual sites to ensure that they are not harmful and are on-topic and of interest to our user base.

If your account posts a link to a separate website every single time you post, your account will be permanently banned. If your first post consists of little more than a link and advertisement to another website, you will be banned until the staff can review your individual case.

I advise everyone to re-familiarize themselves with the ZSDW's Internet Security Survival Guide, written by DevilNuts some time ago. it outlines how to protect yourself on the internet. If there is an unknown link or URL posted to the site, you follow it at your own risk.

Any questions can be forwarded to me or any other member of the ZSDW staff.

HoboJumper How much mags do you carry? (page: 1 2 3) 55 Today, 6:37 PM EDT by cavscout888
Thread started: Apr 8 2013, 8:06 PM EDT  Watch
How much mags do you carry in a SHTF scenario?
For my AR I have a USGI mag with a Israeli spring coupler and a "butt" cuff pouch.
My chest rig has 8 mags and for "speed" reloads and breaking OODA loops I have 2 speed reloads on my battle belt, and 1 weak hand reload.
For pistol mag 1 in the gun, 2 strong hand reloads and 2 "weak" hand reloads.

wkwkwkwk1 Colt M4 - One of Portugal's Standard Issue Assault Rifles: Questions 15 Today, 4:56 PM EDT by cavscout888
Thread started: May 12 2013, 5:12 PM EDT  Watch
So, I recently found out that the Colt M4 Carbine is one of Portugal's Standard Issue assault rifles, along with the Heckler&Koch G3, the Sig543, the FN P90, the Tavor Tar-21 and Heckler&Koch MP5, as seen here:

http://mundomilitar.wordpress.com/2010/09/06/armamento-do-exercito-portugues/

I often tend to confuse the M family (M4, M4A1, ...) assault rifles with the AR family ones, and sometimes even inside each family.

Also, I don't know much about these weapon's features, qualities, flaws, etc.

I'd appreciate if someone could give me an overview on each of these firearms, as they are the ones I'm most likely to stumble upon. If you could also introduce me to the other weapons, such as the handguns and the sniper rifles, I'd appreciate it.

Just by the way, I mentioned the Colt M4 because it's the one that's the most similar to the AR families, and I like those.

Thanks in advance,
wkwkwkwk1

LJ126 Baton, Pepper Spray, and Armor... 2 Today, 4:35 PM EDT by Falter
Thread started: Today, 6:49 AM EDT  Watch
A brief chat with my supervisor tonight has been pretty interesting. If I am selected for a position at one of the area police departments (like I've been talking about for the last few weeks on other threads) I would need to purchase and carry/wear my own ballistic vest, baton, and pepper spray. This is the exciting promotion I've been talking about with a few of you via PM. My name was initially submitted with nine other folks, it's been narrowed down to now only three others, and I'm still listed. Cross your fingers for me; it's not a done deal.

Yep, I realize that this might be hard for some of you to swallow. I'm a real-life mall ninja, who may very well be providing security at a police station. I know how ridiculous it must read on the internet, but believe me, I couldn't make this up. My girlfriend would wave the BS flag on me, for all of you to see, in a heartbeat. I can't pretend about anything. The truth of the matter is that hiring contract security is less expensive than anchoring down police officers. This frees up resources for gear, training, etc. for the police officers. It's also a foot in the door for me, and an opportunity to make a few friends with like-minded folks. Win-Win.

Anywho, back to the point. I need to buy a concealable IIA-IIIA vest, a collapsible baton, and pepper spray. The baton and spray must have a means of being attached to duty belt. To be frank, I don't really know anything about these items. A few of the brand names are recognizable, but these aren't items I use, and I don't know anything about them. Additionally, because I'm buying these items (not issued, no reimbursement from the company) the decisions must be budget-conscious. I am aware that good batons cost quite a bit too.

So, LE types (*cough* - Unassigned & DDMP, others with solid experience - *cough*) any advice? Thanks in advance.
