Were Would You Set-up Base?
your weapons are: colt.45(48 rounds) 22.cal rifle.(150 rounds)
your items are: 4 lighters 2 bottles of liter fluid and a bag of food-water
a boat, with enough supplies and a raft to go to land to resupply. the book "the 48 laws of power" state that cutting yourself
off from others and civilisation or whatever other group there is left is a grave mistake! I agree. picture you are in the safest "panic room"
in the world and run out of supplies, water ammo, etc. and the rest of the house is crawling with Z. now what? open space, planks from roof to roof,
always a way out or away in case, this is the way to go.

IorekByrnison-I would use those weapons to go out and scavenge for better ones(Colt .45, pa-leeeeeease!!!!)+supplies. Then I would fortify one of these

Now in my opinion you would have to be somewhat nomadic to survive. The longer you stay stationary the more skinjobs will come knocking at your door.
I would probably start in my apartment, normally apartments are bad, but i got this one with zombie defense in mind.my apartment is in the back of the building in the basement and is the only apartment on that floor, the rest is all the furnace and water heaters and what not. there is only one door into the base and it is on the back of the building. only one point of entry. the entire building is surrounded by an 8 foot iron fence, with only one gate. it would be enough to keep me safe until we could find another place to stay. there is also a walgreens across the street that would give us basic supplies. food, water, medicine, and personal items and some clothing. my next choice would be a prison. one would hope the prisoners had made it out, a little clean up and i should be ok. malls, department stores, grocery stores, churches, schools. they all have too many exits, and too many low windows. possibly a tall building. barricade the first floor or too and use fire exits to get in and out. The important thing is to keep moving. the longer you stay the more attention you will gather

If I were to hunker down it would be in home depot or some other home improvement store be cause it has lanes and lanes of repurposable items like like tool that could be improvised weapons, but finding food would be a hassle unless you went in the flower nursery and found edibles.

well if i had to run fast i would board up in one of the castle like houses of my cities uper class if i had soem time maybe a castle of a base

Fenced house would be better since it keep most zombie out or in.(That what's i think lol only if u know how to climb roof top. )
My area have lots of terrace house, I have no problem savage house to house. Just barricade down stair & stay over night upstair without worried. Plus the good point is that every people would be left behind some can's food & Cat or Dog food(no good to waste is it) & Water(each house have a water storage). This is not the best option, but in the beginning of the outbreak's. This is the way to survive.

I'd pick an island, as then you shouldn't (concievably) have to fight any zombies.
Sure, deep down it does seem pretty "cool" and "exciting" to be fighting zombies all the time (and that's why the 28 Days Later franchise has been so successful), and be constantly in the thick of battle. But, I'd rather live AWAY from the zombies, and never have to see one. Not much use for that gun on the island, and it's a nice and quiet place to restart humanity. |
