How to survive
The best way to survive, is to get as far from urban areas as you can. Zombies are drawn to them at an allarming rate, and if you are able to get out before the sombies corner you, your in good shape. For travel, keep a smaller group of people you can trust, i like a group of 10-20. for weapons, take atleast 1 range weapon each, and a melee. For transportation, boats and trucks are your best shot for the average person. For supplies, take enough provisions to last you to your location. Medical, take as much as you can, but bring extra rubbing alchohol. Rubbing alchohol can actually stop the Zombie virus if you catch the bite early enough. For an ideal location, deep in the forest, or an island. a place where you know the animals, and the plants. high ground is a must. be sure to have a good perimiter, and hope that not to many zombies find you. hunker down, or keep moving from location to location every couple of weeks, and you should be good to go for a long time. Best of luck to all of you.

How to survive in a city
I want to start out by saying that this is not a post for everyone to argue that rural is better than urban areas for survival. Lets put some ideas out there for the people on this site to aid them if they do not have a rural area to retreat to.
One thing i have thought about for a while is that it would be farely easy to create a system of building to building bridges that could be extended or drawn to allow for quick escapes. How dangerous is a Z if he is one rooftop over but with a 10 story drop in between.

How NOT to survive on Z-day!
OK...I've read through dozens of threads and hundreds of posts on how to survive this and how to survive that aspect of the Zombie Apocalypse. I've seen ideas and theories and plans which will save hundreds of lives across the world come the Z-poc...but let's have some FUN!
People: I want to see suggestions for what to do if you want to get yourself and your group killed post-Z-day! I want BAD Ideas! I want STUPID ideas! I want SUICIDAL behaviour! So come on! Take those good ideas you have and put them to one side for a minute and give me you INSANE plans that would end up with you walking the street seeking "BRAINS!".

Surviving and Living
See but people, and "Building a BOL", well i consider that to fall under the survival aspect but you are right in that other people and the bonding that occurs between people in times of hardship will make life a little more enjoyable. But I think what will keep you sane the most is a control variable. SomeTHING that will keep you going.
For those who are familiar with the story of how Achilles got his "impenetrable" skin he was dipped by his mother in the River Styx (located in the underworld), now as the story goes his mother held him by his foot. But the reason for this was so he wouldn't be swept away into the underworld, that foot was his connection to humanity. So thats why I'm saying focus on one thing an object rather than the ever changing and unpredictable nature of human interaction.

Survival Plan
The above supply list assumes that you are able to move by vehicle (and that you have become aware of the levity of the situation before any panic). It would be wise to have at least two go-to locations that you have prepared in advance. Make sure that these are a good distance away from each other (many places can become more or less ideal depending on different variables of your particular situation). My two locations (as I live in North Florida) are the coast (my family has a secluded beach house that lies on stilts, has very few neighbors, is on the edge of a natural reserve, and is not prone to severe hurricanes), and a secluded (again on stilts) cabin in the Appalachian mountains that belongs to a member of my survival party. I am familiar with the natural terrain and edible food in both settings, and both would be fairly manageable in most situations. If it is still an option to move by vehicle, drive quickly, do not stop until you have reached your destination, and bring extra fuel. Again, for this plan to work, it is VITAL that it is enacted before there is any wide-spread panic amongst other civilians. The roads will quickly become crowded once people realize what is happening. If the panic has already ensued, it would be wise to gather all supplies available around the house (canned food, make-shift weapons, radios, as much water as you can, etc..), destroy any stairs in the case of a two-story building, and hide in an attic- particularly if it has a pull-down ladder entrance and possible access to the roof. While this is not a great permanent solution, it can act as a safe haven to plan your next move (possibly to one of your pre-decided go-to places). You can rest easy and be safely out of reach from the dead (they may in fact not even be aware of your presence if you keep quiet).

Survival Plan
My basic plan will vary most likely have to change if ever used since this is only one of many Z-Day scenarios.
1.Take crowbar, axe, chainsaw, rifle (ammo/type unknown), fishing pole, gasoline, as much food and water as possible, knives, fishing poles, duct tape, and possibly 1-3 survivors (neighbors) from my house and shed and load them into my S-10. 2.Take crowbar break into neighbors house. Raid his armory but leave some for his family. Everything from bows to civilian legal assualt rifles are in this home and I know. 3. Head torwards middle of nowhere (I know exactly where it is but don't want to say it online) and find an abandoned two story house. Have several in mind already in case one is still being used. 4.Begin making a 10'ft deep by 12'ft wide trench around entire perimeter. Use the dirt from this to build a large dirt mound 15'ft away from th trench. 5. Barricade the home ASAP. All windows, doors, and other weak spots must be covered as well s possible. Use furniture to reinforce all barricades. 6. Use axe to start chopping trees down within 300 yards of base. 7. Always have at least one survivor acting as guard 24/7. Change shifts every 6-10 hours. 8.Make sure that stupid local police are alerted so they can call in some competent SWAT and National Gaurd that actually will stand and fight. 9.Live in second story of building. Only go down to first floor if necessary. Basic Survival Plan Continued: 10. Depending on party size, send out teams for scavenging after at least one month (majority of The Panic should be over). NEVER send a person out alone under any circumstance unless you are completly alone. 11.Assuming some form of returning community will arise, trade with it and possibly join militia. 12.Attempt to get modified bus or semi (large amounts of both around) and load it with supplies in case required to Bug Out.

survival idea
I think this idea depends on your location, situation, number of zombies, and so on and so forth. How many Zombie are we talking about? How long do you plan on staying inside this plane? Dose this plane have what humans need to survive? How will you get to this plane in a time of escape? Do you have Clan Members that are knowledgable in Zombie Survival? Are YOU? Do you plan on going out to forage for food or water or even supplies? Are you trying to stay hiiden or just on the defense??
