  • Knives While kitchen knives definetely don't have range, unless you are good at throwing them, they won't all break right away. If you buy a good set, say a set of Wusthof knives, you pose a serious threat. I have a set of the knives, and they are meant to do serious damage to anything. Especially the boning knife, sharpened it could easily get through a zombie's skull.

  • Knives When choosing a good knife to keep on you remember that strenth is key you want a fixed blade knife with a full tang. I tend to like Bowie Knives and Ka-Bars. The Ka-Bar has been trusted by the USMC since WW2 and it is a terrific knife. perfect for most jobs and I bet could punture a skull if drivin with enough force. You would want to stay away from folding knives unless their a swiss army knife or a utility tool. there not good for killing but they make great tools.

  • Knives. I made this thread specifically to discus knives. why you ask? because it has been constantly repeated on this form that people will take A Knife without regard to WHAT Knife they are brining or if it's even worthy of bringing, meaning many of you haven't the slightest clue as to the quality of the single most versatile tool you will have which could very easily cost you and others there lives.

so WHAT knife(s) are you bringing?

    Type: Multi, Folder, Fixed, etc.
Shape: Drop, Speer, Tanto, A/W Tanto, etc.
    Grind: Flat, Hollow, Chisel, etc.
Blade Material: Stainless, Carbon/Tool, Damascus, Non-Steel - Specific types recommended.
Folder Lock type: Liner, Button, Compression, Axis, etc.
Folder Opening type: Thumb Stud/Disk/Hole/Slot, Flipper, Cuda Speed, etc.
Handle Material: G-10, Carbon Fiber, Micarta, etc.

  • S&W Knives? Does anyone know if Smith & Wesson knives are of good quality?
I know they're cheap, because I just but a S&W Extreme Ops folder for 6.95 at O'reily's auto parts (btw when did O'reily' auto parts come to town, they took over all the Karaigen auto parts, are they from back east?)
Ok so not to digress, how are S&W Knives? Let me know, Semper Fi.

  • Bowie knives Oh my gosh, my best friend has one of the original bowie knives or some such, its super old and its still able to take a beating! =*_*= He uses it for a lot of wood work, planing, carving and whatnot and the things really tough.

I wouldn't use it as a zombie weapon though =-_-= The blade is so large and thick, it'd be tough to get it through a cranium I think. I'm sure he would carry it, but it wouldn't even be treated as a backup weapon really.. =^_^=

  • Armory of Ballistic Knives Okay so you guys know what the Spetsnaz Baillistic knives are, right? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OrlzBj2lIJg <---- yeah that is you dont know what it is....well They are illegal in the United States...I just want to say...they are not in my house. I have about 10 different HOMEmade ballistic knives that I will soon be posting onto my profile (as soon as I can get a new camera) hahaha but yeah. They are simple to make (Im not gonna tell you how....just the basics) I used a role of paper, pen spring, and a knife. Well I just want to say in a zombnie attack I might be good because my knives go from two inches like to about the full scale of the Spetsnaz one. Pretty neat, eh? Also we timed the biggest ones fastest speed (Radar gun) at 96 MPH.....AWESOME, eh? The only thing different from mine and a real one is that the the parts arent as durable as the real ones....oh well, its still cool to me. <_-

  • Throwing knives and bows I want a general opinion on my plan to use throwing knives and bows/arrows for my main weapons. I will make my own bows and fletch my own arrows, and keep track of my knives and reuse them. I WILL have a gun and ammo, but that'll only be used in dire situations, i.e. surrounded by zombies. Now, before anybody asks, I know that my bow and arrows will only really be effective when aimed at the eye, and for that to be even possible, the zombie needs to be facing me (In other words, it needs to know I'm there for me to get a shot at it that might be effective). I know this, and still want my bow to be my main weapon. Why? Because the only time I'd fight a zombie and shoot at it with my bow is if it's charging me/attacking me. I will not EVER (Unless it's to rescue somebody, like my family) pick a fight with a zombie. The only reason I'd fight is if I had to. So yeah, that's my plan for weaponry/fighting. If anybody has any flaws to point out, please do. I want feedback. But please don't poo on my idea. Present your information in a calm way. I know I'm gonna get crap for this.

  • Best Folding Knives
"that's a nice knife! And being a night sights fan, I like the tritium stud too.

I'm not a folding knife fan, I just prefer a fixed blade - so dropping $250 would be asking alot outa me for a folder.

BUT....I will certainly say, THIS knife is build well and looks great!"
Me neither. A single peice of metal the thickness of my pinkie fails and I lose some digits.

On my profile there is a list of knives. They are Jay Fisher custom knives. He uses gemstone for handles.
