AlaskanKnight's Plan
This is my personal favourite survival guide on this entire site. It's laid out well, planned well, and above all you have everything you need right there with you. Very interesting read, dude. Would be awesome to chat with you about zombie outbreak plans.

HOLY **** DUDE!
If I ever have an issue, I'm coming to Alaska to find you! Don't worry, I come from Wisconsin, so I am used to cold (not as bad of cold as Alaska probably is, but hey, some is better than none).

So hows it so far?
Well what do you think. Im not done yet about half way done. I understand the second chapter was just a bunch of History and backstory but a story is no fun if you have no idea how the characters got there.
(Also just whatched Inception. Most epic anything of everything))

AlaskanKnight's Updated Zombie Survival Plan

i agree
very well thought out plan. in addition though the mining town is a nice touch but what if the infection beats you/starts there. if you catch my drift. moving is key and so is defending. but assaulting a area that might already be zombie fied isn't really a risk worth taking. scouting yes but no assaults. next question is whats if the people in the mining town haven't heard about the zombies yet or they have and dont want people there. if you catch my drift. any ways just a few things to think about because in moments of panic nobody wants new people around. p.s. i think your gramps has the right idea about the reds.

RONDY FROM THE ZOMBAY!
Best places in Alaska (Hell Alaska IS the place to be even if it ISN'T Zday!) COLD winters Warm Summers, BIG (1,717,854 km2), plenty of islands, 3 military bases, tons of wood, lots of guns, oil pipeline (fuel) and plenty of animals to eat. Great remote places in Alaska; Dillingham, Nome, Bethel, Barrow (top of the world!) Better than canada!

my groups "plan"
Me and about 5 of my friends have been obsessed with the zombie outbreak for years now, though were all under the age of 18 we have a plan
1 st no matter where we are, when the outbreak happens we go to our houses and grab our weapond and supplies personally i have my 22 rifle, about 4 bats, a few crow bars,my swords (i train regullarly) and other assorted tools and improvised weapons
then we head to my friend steves house, its is relativley centeral location, it is also raised, we grabb his shotguns, swords macheti etc.
next we have my mum get her schoolbus ready, theyr sturdy, and we take highways and back roads, stopping only for supplies until we reach canada or alaska, since zombies wouldnt have body heat they are as good as corpse sicles,
if not the high way idfea, we use a sailboat and sail to a close, very cold rejion, tell me if you think it will work
