BB gun distraction
I know the BB gun thing has been discussed before on if it could be lethal to a zombie, but I saw a post that Pedro had on another thread that peaked my attention.
Assuming that if a zombie lost sight of its prey, and would respond to the next stimulus it encounter, would it be possible to set up a system to draw them into a trap?
What I was thinking was a dead fall pit or something similar that only required the Z to walk into it. With a small BB gun like the Red Riders that are incredibly quiet but low power, could you set up a few "gongs" to draw there attention. Just shoot the gong with the BB gun and they start walking in the direction of the sound right into the trap.
You could us a symbol from a drum set or possibly kitchen cookware. Just a thought.

How to defend your base and why it wouldn't be easy
Alright guys, so as I was sitting here thinking about how i might defend a post zed base, and i got to thinking about what would happen if a zed was attracted to the location i will be in. If i was to leave the zed clawing at the door, it would eventually break through, or worse, attract more. So a good melee weapon in the hands of a careful person should be enough to dispatch it.
But what happens when there is more than one zed, or someone slips up and uses a firearm. That might attract dozens more. So unless your very careful, while you are trying to defend your base, you could inadvertently make yourself into an online zombie game where you have to run all around your base re-barricading doors and windows while your trying to shoot the closest zed. I think we all know how those end. Game Over. So what can you do? Well that's exactly why i started this thread. Also, if the answer seems obvious, i apologize in advance, I'm still adjusting to the community and am always learning.

ZSDW Kickstarter idea
I was thinking we could set up a Kickstarter to set up a zombie fortress. The first phase people would donate to buy the land the second stage would buy the wall. The third would be buildings. The fourth would be generating farming and water. People who donated would get swag like shirts abduct and an admission ticket. It would work because in a panic very few would show as they were already dead or in the chaos had forgotten that donation they made years ago. Thus the ZSDW would have a physical base and clubhouse. For location I suggest TN due to lush land, lax gun laws, few people, and cheap land.

Queensland? Undead-damn it.
I'm rather loathe to admit this is my first post on ZSDW, and what a sad state of affairs it is if after all this ghosting on the site, that indeed I'm forced to organise a Queensland base?
Come on Maroons, you can do better then this.

mobile fort
basicly i would steal a bus board it up with 2X4s and travel around with my guns family freinds and supplies picking up survivors and killing zeds.

Bridges
This may sound rather noobish and feel free to pick out every hole in this idea. So I randomly had an idea, there's a concrete bridge 15 miles from where I live and it has a hollow maintenance area inside the bridge its 6 to 8 feet tall, about 20 feet wide, and couple hundred feet long. Its got air vents along the sides every 15 to 20 feet and one entrance on the left lower side of the bridge. The closest town is 7 miles away.
So what do you think about that being a potential base when the panic dies down a bit.

Good ole Water
I live near two or three naval bases, and Newport harbor. I think a submarine or a little cruise or a battleship will do nicely. What do you think?

Swimming with Uncle Sam
This plan is for people who live in Connecticut, Rhode Island, and states in this area. This plan has people go to the New London Naval Base.
Step 1. Get some weapons (stockpiled or at the store) and some supplies Step 2. Get in your car or steal one ;) and use your GPS and bring up the New London Naval Base Step 3. Get there and try and find some naval personal that not infected, use the submarines as a base (because they’re under water tanks) and once a week, go out in a large group to find supplies --- If there are no naval personal or submarines, then they had the right idea, you’ll have to camp nearby and wait till they return for supplies
Ui know there are a lot of problems with this plan, and please help us by posting some options or stuff to fix this plan.

(Another) Scenario!
It's been 20 days since the Panic in your area. You are living in a smalll house with special fortifications - wood over the windows, bricks over the walls that are undefensable - and normal gates and doors. You have 4 of your best friends with you (including their skills). In the back is a 500 square foot crop garden currently growing multiple different types of food crop, as well as a stockpile of 25 MREs and 10 pounds of nonperishable food. You have a clean well in your backyard as well as a purified, 20,000 gallon pool. You and your members' gear consists of standard survival gear. In addition, the base has 4 rifles, 6 pistols (2 revolvers and the rest semi-autos), 2 shotguns, 10 knives, and 8 high-quality steel machetes.
One day you send out your scavenging team; they come back an hour early and say you must come with them. They drive you and everyone else a quarter mile outside of a large fortress, consisting of a 2 story brick house fortified with steel around the perimeter. The perimeter is patrolled day and night by at least 2 guards every 12 hours armed with scoped rifles. About once or twice every day you can see an armored jeep with some supplies leave; later in the day it returns with more. Weather they are looting abandoned places, trading with others, or raiding different bases you cannot be sure. As leader of the group, you do... what?
A) Contact the base and attempt to form an alliance B) Steer clear of the base. C) Attempt to raid the base D) Other
Have fun

Water Tower
It would be annoying to build a water tower just for some raiders to shoot it up with an AK or other large round and fill it full of holes :(
