  • I need help making new survival plans A few years ago I had a solid survival plan. since then, i have married, fathered 2 children and moved across the country from a VERY rural area to an urban area. Charleston SC. The urban environment is still a foreign place to me and I dont have many contacts here.

so far, my plan revolves around moving back to my home town where I am very familiar with the environment.... bugging in and bugging out as necessary. but there are too many unknowns. the trip (by car) is a 12 hour ride and I will have to take my family through 5 dense urban areas. Columbia SC, Spartanburg SC, Knoxville TN, Nashville TN, and Paducah KY. I have checked alternate routes on google maps and I avoid Columbia and Spartanburg but have to pass through Atlanta GA and Chattanooga TN.

We are sure to die if we stay put, but the journey is too great and is just as likely to kill us.

  • My survival plan My original plan was to bug in, but then I read a page/thread about high-security prisons. Basically, my new plan is to collect a bunch of people and their supplies and high-tail it to the nearest high-security prison. Also, I am saving up to renovate my house so that it takes advanced motor skills to get in and out. I live within walking distance of a farm, hot spring, and a huge range of other places that have useful items, so raiding/ collecting extra supplies shouldn`t be a problem. (As you can see if you have an IQ of over 40, this plan only really works for toxic sludge/ pathogen/parasite zombies.) Please give me your feedback.

  • My plans for a base and refugee camp My plan is to make a field into my first base (it's fenced in and i know it well) and take in some refugees. will be scavenging with a group of 2-10+ by any means available. i am near a medium sized town to resupply and look for survives
    1) food is easily available so is clean water
    2) i have enough weapons to supply my team and can make weapons for others
    3) the soil is good enough to grow some crops
will admit the heading south was VERY stupid (it was just a last minute add in really) and i apologize for that. now about the field, it has a 10 ft. fence (i think may be a little less) the ground is very fertile and currently just has wild grass and small trees on it. there is a large pile of ground up black-top that lets you see all the way to the single gate on a back road. the field itself is like a quarter of a mile long and a little less wide. as for food that can come from private homes and town for a while but the town is a little more then 10 miles away with a few houses between

hope this update cleared things up some

  • My zombie survival plan I think I will take only one of my friend with me, because two people won't need too much of supplies, and also can depend on each other. I will bring my cycling backpack, it can fit many cans and water bottle. Before go out to find supplies, I will take a axe and a flashlight from home. And also bring a couple cans of food, and some water. Then, I drive a car to the near convenience store, if I track some zombies but that ok, cause I can use my axe to kill them. I will stay there for a few days , block the doors and widows with wooden plans.

  • New Governments When the infection happens people will form their own governments by taking over well fortified areas. What I would do if it happens, i would secure the place with most supplies like a Wall-mart or country market and secure all the entrances so they wont get in and i would start making weapons out of car parts of pipes and hand them out to everyone i trust with a weapon we would not be a government yet but if we stay there long enough we might turn into one. who agrees.

  • most simple plan? my plan is breathtakingly simple..... i work & live next to a major uk port.It is extremely well fenced in on 3 sides with the sea making up the 4th side. There are numerous buildings & compounds all within a very strong perimiter fence, vast stocks of fuel/food/water & thousands of shipping containers filled with everything imaginable.my basic plan is to lock myself in,clear any internal zombies & then boat over the estuary to the local military camps & kit out with firepower.Simple & easy with no need to layout for equipment you may never use

  • CaptEndo's Survival Plan The core of my Disaster/Zombie Plague survival plan is to Bug In, dig in, and ride out the worst of things at home. Contingency plans for Buging Out generally just cover my being caught away from home, and the purpose of my BOB is to get me home.
I live on a small farm in a more or less rural part of Central Georgia. We have potentially enough resources to support perhaps 20 or so people, with enough preparation. We have water from wells, a seasonal stream, rain barrells, and a county water main with a cistern. It still might not be enough if too many people show up and is my chief concern. We are building a greenhouse, and I would like to expand that to at least one more. We have cattle, fruit trees, nut trees, a good sized garden, plenty of wild life about. A barn that could be converted to extra housing for friends and family, a saw mill, a work shop. And we are a family of hunters and competition shooters with more than one of everything from sharpened sticks to flintlocks and semi automatic military style rifles. My core group of friends have been camping, gaming, shooting, and even serving together for up to 30 years in some cases. We all have military and/or law enforcement training and experience and a varied skill set. Add in our respective families and we have the makings of a small community. Primary defenses are remoteness from population centers and major roads, can't be readily seen from the secondary roads, and being surrounded for miles by neighbors with similar resources. If we network with them, we coyuld arrange a lot of mutual support and defense in depth.

  • My Plan Once it begins me and 5 of my usmc buddies who are currently staying with me plan to gather supplies from within and fortify our house. Standard outfit for the entire 6 man team 1 berreta 9mm SMI (standard military issue) and primary weapon depending on specialty mine personaly would be my remington tac semi auto 12 gauge 20 rd clip. our main focus would be steady supply of water, food, and first aid supplies because it would suck to be able to survive the zombies and die because of dehydration or malnutrition and infection. Leadership would be decided the same as it was when we were serving. Our watch would stay in the attic we would rotate 2 man teams one shooter one spoter. we would not engage until in danger. We would not bring in anyone else into our team unless they would be usefull. and we would all be under one code that is if someone is bitten, they are killed and we are all complient with this. after 6 to 12 months we would load up and move to my uncles farm house. it lies on 20 acres of flat feild. we would set up a fence line 300 yds from the forest. 10ft chain link fence. our water supply would be the 3 wells lying on the property. food would be canned food, livestock and crops that we grow.
    My Team:
Me - expert/military trained marksman, survival expert 1st Lt USMC
Johnny - medic, fast on his feet, scavenger/ town runner. Cpl USMC
Gabe - ex special forces, survival expert, expert marksman Sgt USMC
Robby - fast on his feet, survival expert, scavenger/town runner Sgt USMC
Brian - Heavy gunner, exploives expert, survival expert, driver if needed 2nd LT USMC
Mike - Communications expert, survival expert, mechanic, expert marksman Sgt USMC

thats about it, we would make town runs when nessasary a 3 man team would be deployed. Leave recomendations please. As for our living situation now we are in a 5 bed room house in north georgia isolated from big cities with good amount of land.

  • My Plan. Basically I am gonna have a bug-out bag already packed for this, which will be detailed in a different post, grab it, and head to a previously decided location. A few other people know about it already, and we will go straight there individually instead of meeting at one place to move to another. From there it will be farming, hunting, gathering resources, establishing and expanding a safe zone. Gather other survivors that are willing to join us. My eventual hope is to have several small communities in a large area, with trade and comm networks, hopefully radios (contingent on generators of course). Then just hopefully outlasting the plague. I will try to preserve as much scientific, medical, and cultural knowledge as I can. Basically lay the foundation for the next civilization. Not in a power position, just by getting everyone to work for humanity, instead of money or themselves.

  • H322: Survivor or Lunchmeat? YOU DECIDE! Im pretty new to this site, so bear with me if my plan seems a bit newbish. Its decisive, and extremely subject to change (I learn more from you guys every time Im on this site!). And just as a little note to anyone reading this, this plan is geared towards any sort of disaster, whether it be a full blown zombie epidemic (hope not), or a severe natural disaster that presents an immediate danger to society and my family. Here goes, and feel free to tear it up if you do so choose.

Situation: Disaster strikes my local area, comms are down, panic ensues (rioting, looting, murder, or zombies :O ) The possibility of a conclusion to this disaster does not seem likely, and the window for escaping what I call the funnel (the area that includes the most chaos and is virtually inescapable without tremendous harm to yourself or the group you travel with) is dwindling away.

What do I do?: Tell my family that it is not safe to remain at the house due to close proximity of our local town and the amount of people that propose a significant threat. Gather every bit of food and water we have at hand. We can also gather from the sink IF AND ONLY IF the water is not the source of the outbreak, and of course assuming that we still have running water. Load it into our car if transit by vehicle is safe. If not, I will hide it inside a wall of our house JIC if we do come back, the good ol' hide the hole with a picture trick we all used as kids, hoping that would suffice at least for the immediate panic. I will distribute the BOB's and any weapons we have available, (my shotgun, my brothers rifle, and a good amount of blunts and sharps for those who cannot operate a firearm safely). After all our equipment is loaded up (either into the car or our backs), we will proceed to one of our BOL.

  • My survival plan I would stay in my home for the first day then go looking for friends, family ect. I would take a knife and canned food. After I find a person I know and trust, I'd loot a supermarket for more food and maybe try and find a bicycle because it doesn't need fuel. I'd then live on a farm and grow food with the other people I found. I would stay here for a few months. Then I would try and find a boat to take us and the supplies to an island up north that is too cold for zombies but If you were to take the right supplies, you could survive. I would on stockpole food and occasionally take the boat back to gather more supplies. The island would become my home, I would take 5-10 other people with me. Tell me what you would do in the replies below. Also please point out any flaws with my plan. Thank You

The police said the attacker was on drugs more than likley bath salts like all the others. So i better start getting ready.

  • AFTER the Zombie Apocalypse There has been much discussion on this site about where to go during the Zombie Apocalypse.

Some suggestions I have read include Great Britain (assuming GB is not infected and zombies can't swim), Alaska, Area 51, and anywhere-but-the-Canadian-Great-Lakes-region (due to the presence of nuclear reactors, chemical plants, and crumbling sewage treatment centers).

But what if you actually survive the whole ordeal? Where do you go after?

For example, lets say you were prepared well, you were armed, and you were ready to go when the outbreak began. You grabbed you BOB and 12-gauge, fought your way past the hordes, made it out to the back country where you have already scouted out a BOL, or perhaps have already built one. As the ZA burns its way through the world, you are safe and sound during its remaining days, listening to scattered news reports on you hand-powered short wave.

Eventually it becomes clear that the threat has receded. But you are comfortable where you are, have a good source of supplies, so just to be safe you stay put.

Months pass, maybe even a couple of years go by. Now there is no doubt the original threat has burned itself out. Your immediate reason for taking shelter is now gone. Now, maybe your supplies are running low and you see the real need for a more economical way of attaining resources (bartering!). Maybe you begin to realize your luck with your health may run out soon and you need to re-connect to a community should you require care. Or maybe you are just getting bored.

Now what? Where do you go? Where and what do you stay the hell away from?

Several things to consider here: civilization may have been reduced to a nub, but people will still be people. That can be both good and bad. The zombie threat may be greatly diminished, but some may still be ambulatory. How will this affect your decisions?

When i do all of that everyone is going to drive to area-51 and see what is there weapons, vehicles, lasers and plasma weapons maybe thats where the zombies came from? anyone agree to go there and check it out?
